Tamagotchi P2 ROM has been dumped

I clean the microcontroller crystal from epoxy resin, resulting in something like this: Then I take a photo of the ROM area through a microscope and read it, getting a ROM file ready for use in an emulator.

Now Garden and Ocean 🥲

I would like to, but they cost more than I'm willing to spend on that. If I find them at a suitable price, I'll definitely dump their ROMs.

@TamagotchiWiki Isn’t this typically referred to as Gen 2? I’m curious when the term ‘P2’ came into use and what it stands for, would love to learn

@TamagotchiWiki I thought it was a relatively common term. Regarding the etymology, perhaps the "P" comes from "Pet"?

Amazing job, more impresive taking into account that you did it by literally reading the rom with your eyes! Now only if anyone could dump the Pocket Pikachu rom, it is a tama worth preserving I think.

One of them is on the way to me right now :) Although I don’t really expect to be able to read its ROM, but I’ll give it a try.
