Yes, Nikki Haley was “a brown girl” who changed her name and religion and denies racism exists. That’s quite the survival mode. I know the kind of people she’s trying to connect with. White conservatives love it when people of color deny racism because it lets them be racist.

ANYONE that does not know, or refuses to acknowledge America's history, for whatever reason, should absolutely NOT be POTUS.

This is a very poor attempt to rewrite history. There is nothing wrong with telling your kids that they have a chance in society. That is what makes this country great. Denying the past, no matter how ugly it may be, is not the way, Nikki.

Men are created equal. If wealthy, white & own property. Women couldn't vote until 8/18/1920. My dad was 4yrs old. Black folks counted as 3/5ths of a person, later, they risked their lives to vote. We aren't a racist, misogynist nation unless you consider those pesky facts.

JFC. I don't know why she can't just say "I misspoke. Look, for much of our history we were a racist country. But today, we are not. We still struggle with racism. I saw it first hand in my own state where a deranged white man killed 8 black ppl while they prayed in church. We saw it with George Floyd and too many Black and Brown people who interact with the police. But we have made progress. While others may disagree, I do not believe we are the racist country we were in the past." Like, why can't she just be honest like this?
