BREAKING: Trump is backtracking in part on his auto tariffs. This was predictable. It couldn't work. Trump is doing what they call "destacking" the Auto Tariffs. Car manufacturers will pick the highest tariff and only get charged for that one. They would mostly face the 25% auto tariff but not the steel and aluminum tariffs or the fentanyl tariffs. A tariff credit / offset will also be provided to car manufacturers in the U.S. This will be a 3.75% credit in the first year and then a 2.5% credit in the second year, before being phased out.

This gentlemen explains. “I think it could be the best thing that has happened to this country in 135 years….in 1890 there was no sales tax, there was no income tax, there was no property tax, there was only tariffs on what was coming into the country and in 1890, the Congress had to convene a special commission to figure out what to do with the surplus money.” Will it happen overnight? Nope. It will take time but as other countries start feeling the pinch or the loss of the American market, a real free trade market will emerge and prices will come down. President Trump will not flinch first.

At this point, you have sadly lost all credibility! I know it will hurt in the short term, (6mo-yr) it took a while to get in this position it’ll take a while to get us out. 💯💯💯 We, the people, voted for this when we elected Trump! He ran on tariffs!
