to piggyback on the idea of the DOW sending you a notification about the military equipment you paid for with your tax dollars, you should also be sent all unclassified data that equipment produces as a result of its use (when applicable, of course. I wouldn't argue against an item used in combat to have its data withheld until after the conflict is over, gotta maintain opsec still) that way people can track exactly what they're getting in exchange for those taxes.
