There are close to 700 of these tire recycling in the United States, nearly 100% of a recycled tire gets repurposed in one form or another and yet we see discarded tires everywhere. ⏺️ Tire-Derived Fuel (TDF): ~33% — Whole or shredded tires burned as a high-energy fuel substitute for coal in cement kilns, paper mills, and utilities. This recovers the energy value of the entire tire (rubber + steel contributes to the burn). ⏺️ Ground / Crumb Rubber markets: ~28% — Rubber is granulated into various sizes for rubberized asphalt, playground surfaces, athletic tracks, molded products, mats, mulch, etc. This is the main "material reuse" stream from facilities like the one in the video. ⏺️ Civil engineering / Tire-Derived Aggregate (TDA): Smaller share (~5–10% combined with other uses) — Whole tires, bales, or chips used for lightweight fill, retaining walls, drainage, erosion control, etc.

We haven't visited with some of our snow removal friends in a while! This fella is using a small John Deere Tractor with a plow attachment! It's a pretty big job for the size of the machine. Long driveways, heavy snow. He's got the tires chained and near the end of the video he notices a problem with one of the tire rims freely rotating within the tire. Any idea why? Any idea how to fix it? What's your best guess?

You just finished a shift and you are getting ready to go home, you notice that your tire is flat, and now you have to start the ordeal of having it towed, and then getting it fixed, but you really don’t have time and don’t want to take off work for it. Luckily now there are services like this. You call him and let him know what brand and size tire you have, he comes to you, takes the wheel off and mounts and balances the new tire for you on site in less than an hour with installation. Would you be open to the idea of a mobile tire replacement service if you needed it?

Very interesting detail shared on Actions Detrimental: Denny Hamlin says that the new right side tire for Bristol allegedly has such aggressive falloff that it destroyed a machine Goodyear uses to test tire wear under certain loads. Caveat here is that the tire apparently hadn't cured before Goodyear tested it and it's also just what Denny heard. Still... "I'm all for Team Chaos this week. I hope we can't run 50 laps. I just hope they have enough tires is gonna be my thing."

California Democrats are preparing to ban essentially ALL after market tires This is a real proposal from the California Energy Commission called the Replacement Tire Efficiency Program “I mean pretty much every aftermarket tire sold in the state is going to be regulated, and no one is talking about it — Tires use energy, some more than others, and California wants to lower the energy use of tires on their vehicles so less CO2 goes into the atmosphere” It’s for climate change…. I looked into what their plan is It would require all replacement and aftermarket tires sold in California to meet strict low rolling resistance standards similar to those on new cars (OEM tires) Tires that don’t meet the targets phased in starting 2028, with stricter rules in 2031 could not be legally sold in the state OEM tires on new cars are optimized for low rolling resistance (better fuel economy/lower emissions), but this often means shallower tread depth, shorter lifespan, and sometimes reduced grip Many popular aftermarket tires (especially performance, all-season, or longer-lasting ones) have higher rolling resistance for better handling, durability, or traction.
