Phase Three of the Ravens preseason preparations gets underway today, as our guys will now get to put what they’ve learned into practice. This segment allows teams to conduct 10 total days of optional team practice activity as they gradually ramp up ahead of the new NFL season. At this stage, live contact remains prohibited, but the Ravens will be able to participate in 7-on-7, 9-on-7, and 11-on-11 drills as they get to grips with the new schemes in Baltimore. Over the next three weeks, we’ll start to see some of our new crop of Ravens make their case for a place on the final 53-man roster come September! For us, we’ll likely see the very first hints of what Jesse Minter’s defense will look like and what Declan Doyle intends to do with the offense. We won’t see much, by design! Who are you most looking forward to seeing in a Ravens uniform? For me, it’s Ja’Kobi Lane!

Shedeur Sanders put on an ABSOLUTE SHOW at Browns OTA’s today. Sanders finished today going 7/9 (78%), 100+ yards, and 3 TD’s. Sanders was reportedly the “most efficient” of any QB on the field during the team portions of practice, leading all QB’s in completion percentage, and total TD’s. It’s early, but Sanders ball placement reportedly looks the “most elite” of any young QB to come through the Browns roster in years. Several sources close to the Browns reportedly believe it’s “100% possible” that Sanders ends up the week one starter, if he continues his elite practice performances. Day 8 notes - - Tuli Tuipulotu was a full participant in practice for the second day in a row and blew up an Omarion Hampton run on one of his first reps. -Branson Taylor took all the reps at left guard with the group blocking for a Justin Herbert. - First OL-DL one-on-ones of camp: didn’t see all of these but Akheem Mesidor flashed in the ones I did and Jake Slaughter looked solid - Bud Dupree recorded what would’ve been a sack on a rush against Travis Burke during team drills - Justin Eboigbe continued his strong camp, consistently generating interior pressure. - Genesis Smith intercepted Justin Herbert after a pass went through Charlie Kolar’s hands. - Keaton Mitchell fumbled during 11-on-11, with rookie Nick Barrett** recovering. - Donte Jackson had an impressive diving pass breakup during 7-on-7 that led to an Elijah Molden interception of Trey Lance. - Derius Davis beat the defense deep on a pass from Herbert but couldn’t survive the ground after making the catch. - The offensive line consistently created running lanes throughout practice. This team was down by 7 runs in the last inning. They made a comeback and scored the winning run by this young man stealing home. 👏 This is why as a catcher, you never throw the ball back to the pitcher from your knees with runners on base. You always stand and take a look at the runner, ESPECIALLY with a runner on third and in this scenario, the game winning run. That’s poor coaching imho. It’s the little fundamentals that are coached in practice that add up to whether a team is prepared or not for the games. Where was the coach telling his catcher to keep an eye on the runner at third?

Nick Saban has always asked this question about Leadership... "How many guys on the team need to be led?" Coach Saban believed in the power of Collective Leadership with his teams. 1. Are most players on your team bought in? 2. Do most players on your team set a good example? These players do not need someone to impact or influence them if they are already making these choices and leading by example. This is the power of collective leadership. Collective leadership is vital to successful teams. I believe there are 7 types of Collective Leaders that all teams need: 1. The GAMER - When the game is on the line. Who does the team look to? Who wants the ball in their hand? It is the Game Leader. They don't "have" to lead in other ways, but it would be best if they did. This player is often the ultimate competitor on the team. 2. The WORKER - Winning Teams have Practice Leaders. They bring energy and focus to each practice. They ensure competitive and strong practices. They Lead by Example. You practice much more than you play. 3. The GATEKEEPER - This leader ensures the Team Culture is Maintained. They put out the fires. They keep the team accountable. Especially when the coach is not there. They are essential in WINNING Teams. 4. The COMMUNICATOR - It is a long season. There will be difficult days. Teams need the Communicator to get through these tough days. They often provide humor and can lighten the mood. They have high Emotional Intelligence. This is an Underappreciated Leader. 5. The CONNECTOR - These players are often your “glue” players. They keep the team connected on the court or field as well as in the locker room and in social settings. 6. The ENERGY GIVER - The Energy Giver brings Positive Energy Every Day! Their Energy is Contagious! This leader knows that nothing great can be accomplished without Enthusiasm. The Energy Leader brings positive energy each day. They feed the team! 7. The SERVER - Finally, the Server embodies Servant Leadership. They are all about the TEAM. They bring a WE-first mentality to all they do. Their focus on the TEAM creates a contagious WE>ME mentality throughout the team. During the 1971 war, I was a young student in Amritsar. We did all these mock drills. I was then studying in Ferozepur, where these mock drills used to be held. This is just for the benefit of citizens and to make them aware that if some action is taken, they can protect themselves. There is no need to panic...It is not as if Pakistan will attack every house, it doesn't have money or ammunition for that. Practice this comfortably...As far as blackout is concerned, you just have to put up black sheets on your windows and put up dark curtains. So that if there is even a little light inside, the aircraft flying above cannot see it...It's a routine thing, it's a normal thing. Coopreate with the authorities and nothing is going to happen to any civilian if you follow these drills correctly."
