Look at the arc of the day. It started with a small guy, in a small caravan, with a small entourage going into a big building. And you can see on his face that he's gone from reality TV to reality. He looks shaken up. But then... he gets in a big plane and goes to his big resort and has a big event. How can players make a big jump next year?!?! For High School and College players… they all put in work with their coaches. Most of them have a trainer they see to put in work. So what is the separator? 1. Are you working on the right things with your coaches that are going to help you be a better player working your team and overall 2. HOW MUCH TIME DO YOU PUT IN THE GYM ON YOUR OWN. This is a HUGE SEPARATOR because this time isn’t dependent on anyone and is unlimited in how much you do. Almost every player I’ve worked with that has made a BIG JUMP has put in extra time on their own. It’s not only because of the work, but it also helps players understand their game better and gives them a bigger investment in their development. As a player you should assess that part of your development today!

You can see the love mixed with his own failures as a father.... For me, it’s a very powerful scene cause you see he wants to be a dad, but he doesn’t know how to do it without violence and control...

Don’t let the “Get to do” crowd make you think that doing things you have to or need to isn’t where you’re supposed to be. We don’t have all have glamorous jobs or our dream jobs. Normally those are the jobs that people say they “Get to” do. Nothing is wrong with grinding to the bone until you’re you’re own boss or working from the bottom aiming for the time. Shoot, sometimes it’s about making sure everyone in your house is fed, cared for and clothed. Doing what has to be done is a necessity. It doesn’t make you a failure. It makes you a survivor. Let’s go to work.
