Jake Wood is a former U.S. Marine sniper who served in Iraq and Afghanistan. After leaving the military, he co-founded Team Rubicon, a disaster relief group that mobilizes veterans for crisis response missions. He is the Executive Director of the newly launched Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) and spoke with CNN’s Jeremy Diamond about the U.S.-backed plan to deliver aid into Gaza using private contractors and bypassing the UN and traditional NGO channels.

This is what collaboration looks like. Team Rubicon and World Central Kitchen are on the ground in Jamaica, responding to Hurricane Melissa. Greyshirt volunteers are teaming up with WCK to make sure survivors get what they need. Our team is clearing debris and opening routes to help WCK reach cut off communities where food and supplies have been airlifted in until now. WCK is keeping us fed and fueled, and has already served over 100,000 meals, powered by two main Field Kitchens and more than 40 local restaurant partners. Two forces, one mission: serve people who need it most. #teamrubicon #chefsforjamaica #hurricanemelissa
