NASA completed another step to ready the SLS rocket for the NASA Artemis III mission. Teams at #NASAMichoud recently applied the thermal protection system to the core stage’s liquid hydrogen tank. With thermal protection in place, crews will now begin outfitting the tank with essential systems. Built by Northrop Grumman, the massive boosters will help power the Space Launch System rocket, generating 7.2 million pounds of thrust at liftoff as NASA works toward returning astronauts to the moon.
