Tech guys don't use Google search anymore. It's not just censored. It just sucks. Perplexity is better. And you can set it as default. Here's how to fix your search in thirty seconds:

Yes, many of us stopped using traditional search years ago due to quality and dark patterns. "Search" is far more distributed now. It depends on what I'm looking for: - Product reviews: YouTube - Breaking news: X (advanced search) - Macro: Signal, Telegram groups - Research: ChatGPT + OSINT to vet - Industry: Slack - Competitive Analysis: Crunchbase - Ethnographic/ Local: FB groups The only things I use traditional search for: - Reference image searches - URL lookups I tried Perplexity as my default browser. It suits a very narrow use case. Most of my queries don't require an essay with citations.

You’re better than this 🤦🏾♂️

This feels like a paid ad

has now an LLM connected to the Internet too. And it doesn't collect your data.

@brave search is great.

Looks like Google has already lamed fixing this, at least on the Chrome browser where I tried to follow the steps in the vid. At "Manage search engines and site search", typed in `Perplexity`, and Chrome settings is saying "No search results found." Is this Google being evil⁉️

There is no reason to use Google Chrome in 2024. You can switch to @brave in less than a minute!

The next gen search by @perplexity_ai leverages GenAI and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) for a better UX, but the challenges of data ownership and verifiability remain. Decentralize your RAG with open source @origin_trail and solve both.🤝

Google is so fucking useless I actually can’t believe it.
