Seculars love Jerusalem and Haredim go to Tel Aviv for vacation get aways (speaking from experience). As I live in both camps what bothers me most - and hilunim will not own this - is their utter contempt for Haredim. Their dismissal of Haredim as unworthy people. I once was walking in Jerusalem and to the side was a Haredi mother with a number of children, a jogging woman with her dog off leash crossed their path. The children, frightened of the dog, stepped back and maybe one of them said something? The jogger yelled “get out of the way you disgusting brats!” How many times I have overheard Haredim called parasites? The Haredim I know are hard working family loving community giving people. I don’t agree with most of my haredi friends and family on politics, especially on the draft, but I find myself torn because of the hateful characterisation of this community in enlightened circles. Of course there is substance to the complaint! But what I most wish for is a beginning of dialogue between these groups. Maybe without any politicians present. My close haredi friends now have two grandsons who are career officers- actually, not sure of their current rank. Their sons didn’t do army, their daughters did national service. Their two oldest grandsons have been in the war since its beginning until now. Why look at this situation as if it must conform to a linear course? And can only be resolved with unwavering hostile demands? We need to find the way. Of my secular friends children who turned 18 since the war began - four young people all have waivers for psychological or other reasons.( I didn’t ask the reason). This is extremely common. But I agree we need to see a way to resolve the core problem. Insulting people from either side needs to stop.

Any ideas how? Yeah, it's called the rest of the freaking country. Overall it "evens out" ... Still no majority, but you get what I'm saying...

Why is it “secular change” on one side and “extremist” on the other? Seems a little biased no?

You now just understand why, during the war of Gog and Magog, only Jerusalem will be protected by God. .

You are becoming more insufferably by the day. So right wing is extremist but the democrats who protest in the streets saying that we are occupiers, that we are murderers & that the they would rather make peace with the Arabs than Likudniks aren't extreme? Boosha

Israel is slowly drifting to an existence similar to any other hyper religious, brown and dysfunctional middle eastern country. Sad

Very simple "Israel is a constitutionally secular country where religious freedom is guaranteed. Quite simply, Israel must return to its basic principles and reduce religious radicalization."

Our culture is built on contradictions: Sephardim and Ashkenazim, kings and prophets, right and left, Gemini, OpenAI, Anthropic, Meta, BlackRock, Soros. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Ok, let's me tell you how this works irl. NY City is filled with brain dead liberals. NYC and the rest of NYS are two different countries. In NYC Mamdani is a mayor. Since NYC manages to outvote the rest of NY State, the entire state now is one big overpriced shit hole.

Yup time for Tel Aviv to do Teshuva. Embrace your heritage, history and identity. Stop chasing the love and approval of the others. No amount of integration will ever make them love you. Study nazi Germany
