Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said the state has exact census data and will place it before the Supreme Court of India when the issue of 4% reservation for the Muslim community comes up for hearing. He said submission of the data would make the quota permanent.

#Hyderabad: #Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has alleged that Hyderabad Metro Phase-2 is stalled by the Centre. He said Phase-1 cost rose from ₹15,000 cr to ₹22,000 cr and accused the Telangana With KCR govt of failing to expand Metro to key areas. L&T projected ₹400 cr annual losses and was reluctant to proceed. The Chief Minister said the State arranged a ₹13,600-cr IRFC loan at 4% for debt-ridden L&T, but alleged Union ministers Manohar Lal, Ashwini Vaishnaw and G Kishan Reddy, blocked fund transfer. #RevanthReddy also claimed that Telangana With KCR and KTR helped stall Phase-2, while #Ahmedabad and #Vizag Metro got approvals. Basically, the issues we highlighted during discussions in Parliament have largely been addressed by the Court. - Firstly, the qualification of five years of Muslim practice, which was debated extensively in Parliament. The top court has struck it down. - The government also said they were giving powers to the Collectors to decide disputes. This has also been struck down. - As for the issue of non-Muslim members in the Waqf Board, the Supreme Court has reduced the number of non-Muslims allowed on Waqf Councils and observed that Chief Executives of the Waqf Boards should be from the Muslim community. Some of the points that have been debated by the Parliament and by the people of this country have been addressed by the Supreme Court.
