So captivating. Martin Sheen is a national treasure.

you never heard this before

"You get Hoynes!" If you know, you know ;)

Bartlet yelling at god in Latin was one of the best written moments I’ve ever seen.

"Have I displeased you, you feckless thug?" I've never seen such a feeling so articulately captured in a show before. And Sheen says it Latin, too.

Best single episode of television in its history and I’ll die on this hill

I’ve been rewatching West Wing and it’s such an emotional experience. Bartlet talking to Charlie Young about his mother. Mrs. Landingham’s death. C.J.’s father’s watch.

No matter how many times I’ve seen it - instant goose bumps. He never won a single Emmy for this show and it’s a goddam CRIME

NOTHING on television will ever equal The West Wing.

You get Hoynes. Still gives me chills. No one else could have played President Bartlet.

That was such a gut punch when Mrs Landingham died in that traffic accident after she just got the first new car in her life

Sorkin had a lot of balls to write that scene. I mean in a good way.

AMEN. Watched this entires FIVE times-three while Trump was in office to save my sanity!

Correct, David Simon said when he wrote ‘The Wire’ he wasn’t going to simplify it, if you couldn’t keep up, watch something else. Same with the West Wing, both deserve rewatching as you can miss intricate details on the first watch. 10/10 writing & acting.

This scene made me so uncomfortable. Maybe it was the cigarette inside the church? I think about this scene when I'm struggling spiritually.

an incredible moment of television. Thank you Aaron Sorkin for this gift.

i've said it before and i'll say it again jed bartlet is the greatest president this country has ever seen

Perfection. It’s rarely achieved but this is perfection.

Possibly the greatest single scene in TV history….you get Hoynes!!!!

I toured the National Cathedral because of this scene.

Such a stunning performance! I have only watched this ep ("Two Cathedrals") once. I can still feel the raw emotion. TRIVIA: Check the credits. Dr. Barlett is played by MSNBC's Lawrence O'Donnell (WW producer & writer).

And then God sends Mrs. Landingham to knock sense back into him. I loved everything about this episode.

Wow. I am sick in bed and I am literally watching that episode right now. So sad that they took Mrs. Landingham out like that. One of the saddest tv deaths in my mind.

For reference...

One of the best scenes from The West Wing!

And after the press conference, he gets the question and leaves everyone in suspense The whole segment is a gem, Best TV show ever

That scene ruins me every single time.

I can’t believe you posted it without the ending. 😱

We're fools to make war on our brothers in arms...

ugh... I miss this show so much...

One of the most superbly written & acted moments in television history.

Best TV monologue ever.

I loved, loved, loved, that the show did NOT subtitle his Latin with an English translation... that if you wanted to know what he said, you had to go figure it out w/o the show's help. One of my favorite episodes in one my favorite shows ever.

I think that why I struggle with religion, the judgement of others and when genuine good people have the worst of things happen to them, but those that don't care and leave carnage behind them. Life is too un-fair and un-judge to believe in any god, gods or religion.
