It is not designed to replace Arweave but rather to work in collaboration with it, complementing Arweave's permanent storage capabilities. Not all data requires permanent storage, and ArFleet offers a cost-effective option for short-term storage. Users can choose to store data for durations ranging from a few minutes to several years, depending on their needs. ArFleet is more than just a storage market; it also functions as a content retrieval market, providing CDN services through micropayments. ArFleet will be available as open-source software, allowing users to pay with any token or currency they prefer, with the default payment option being the AO token. Together, Arweave as the permanent storage layer, ArFleet as the temporary storage layer, and AO as the large-scale parallel computing layer are driving the development of the Permaweb and its core applications.
