@SemiShinigami @grok let’s say - If Spacex and Tesla merges into 1 company. Then how will non-citizen employees in Tesla able to work? As rockets/defense companies you need the clearance and be a citizen??

Terafab will be built in Grimes County, Texas In April, we broke ground on our research fab on the North Campus of Giga Texas – the precursor to Terafab. Both Tesla & SpaceX will need far more chips than current & future global production can supply. This is why we're building the largest chip manufacturing facility ever, with the goal of producing over 1 terawatt of compute per year The future is built in Texas

Elon Musk on scaling AI beyond Earth. "To reach a terawatt of compute per year, we need about 10 million tons to orbit annually. This is feasible—no new physics required—and I'm confident SpaceX can achieve it." Most people treat orbital mass as sci-fi. Elon treats it as a logistics problem with hard numbers — and a factory plan to match. • ~10 million tons to orbit per year • Terawatt of solar for power • Terawatt of compute → Terafab fills the gap No new physics. Starship is the freighter. Terafab is the factory. "We're also scaling to a terawatt of solar for power. The remaining piece is a terawatt of compute, which is why we're building Terafab."

The TeraFab Scale To reach a terawatt of AI compute output per year, SpaceX needs a chip factory at a scale that does not exist. That is the TeraFab. Elon Musk on the size: ~ 100 million square feet of factory floor ~ 10x larger than the entire Tesla Gigafactory Texas ~ Designed to produce one billion full-reticle chip equivalents per year ~ Each chip producing roughly one kilowatt of compute For context, current global AI chip manufacturing tops out at around 100 gigawatts per year of total compute. The TeraFab is built for 1000 gigawatts. That is 10 times the current global capacity, from a single facility.

🚨 We’re getting our first look at what SpaceX’s Terafab facility will look like in Grimes County, TX just outside Bryan-College Station. 💬 From SpaceX : “The foundations for an exciting future are being built in Texas. Earlier this year, SpaceX and Tesla announced Terafab – the most epic-chip building effort in the world – combining logic, memory and advanced packaging all under one roof. In April, Tesla broke ground on a new research fab on the North Campus of Giga Texas – the precursor to Terafab. And today, we are announcing that Terafab will be built in Grimes County, Texas. The facility will be an advanced semiconductor fab that will bridge the divide between current global chip supply and the compute demand of the future.” Find our coverage on KBTX’s app and website!

🚨 Elon Musk's reported Terafab project could be bigger than most people realize. 👀 Jo Bhakdi says the planned Tesla-SpaceX facility could reach 100 million square feet, about 10 times larger than Giga Texas, with a goal of producing around 1 terawatt of AI chips per year. He also highlighted Elon’s vision for AI in space, with plans to rapidly increase compute power in orbit over the next few years. If these plans become reality, SpaceX and Tesla may not just be building products. They could be building the infrastructure that powers the future of AI. $TSLA $SPCX

Elon Musk announced a chip factory 10 times the size of Tesla's Gigafactory. The goal is to produce enough AI compute to equal twice the entire electricity consumption of the United States. He called it the Terafab. Here is the number that stopped me cold. The entire global AI chip industry right now is on track to hit around 100 gigawatts per year of compute. Every Nvidia GPU, every Google TPU, every chip from every company on earth combined. 100 gigawatts. Musk wants one factory to produce a terawatt per year. A terawatt is 1,000 gigawatts. Ten times the output of the entire global industry. From a single building. To put the scale in physical terms, the Terafab would need to be around 100 million square feet. You would need Starship point to point transport just to get from one end to the other. But the reason for the scale is not ambition for its own sake. To launch meaningful AI compute into space, you need a billion chips per year running at a kilowatt each. That is not a number the current industry can produce. The Terafab is the only way to get there. The timeline he put out: a gigawatt of space AI compute annualized by end of next year. Then 10x per year from there. 10 gigawatts by year two. 100 gigawatts by year three. A terawatt beyond that. Most people think orbital data centers are a decade away. Musk is building the factory to make them possible by next year.

ELON MUSK ANNOUNCED A CHIP FACTORY 10 TIMES THE SIZE OF TESLA'S GIGAFACTORY 🤯 HE CALLS IT THE TERAFAB. THE ENTIRE GLOBAL AI CHIP INDUSTRY IS ON TRACK TO PRODUCE AROUND 100 GIGAWATTS OF COMPUTE PER YEAR. MUSK WANTS A SINGLE FACTORY TO PRODUCE 1 TERAWATT PER YEAR. THAT'S 10X THE OUTPUT OF THE ENTIRE GLOBAL INDUSTRY. THE GOAL? BUILD ENOUGH AI COMPUTE TO POWER ORBITAL DATA CENTERS. MOST PEOPLE THINK IT'S A DECADE AWAY. MUSK THINKS IT STARTS NEXT YEAR. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY CRAZY.
