I can’t tell if those type of val fans don’t like acknowledging / labelling him as a rapist simply cause don’t want to be perceived as liking a rapist character or if they’ve genuinely mischaracterised him so much that they don’t actually SEE him as a rapist. denial or delusion

I don't have any problem with people enjoying Val's character. I understand that many are just victims trying to cope that way. However we need to say things like they are. He is a rapist. Rapists can be charming and interesting for the audience and they will still be rapists.
