The US is losing the war in Iran. It is embarrassing beyond belief - Scott Ritter Iran has prepared thousands of missiles and the US has only hundreds of air defence missiles left. They even stripped South Korea bare. Abandoned them. Iran will continue to fire their missiles, long after the US has run out of THAAD, Patriot and Iron Dome ammunition. "THE UNITED STATES HAS NO AIRCRAFT CARRIERS IN THE MIDDLE EAST" Most people believe that the U.S. cannot launch an attack on Iran unless it has at least one aircraft carrier in the Middle East. The U.S. usually has two aircraft carriers in place when a military intervention is launched. One of the aircraft carriers acts as a backup. That is the normal procedure. I think the military doctrine is changing. Aircraft carriers are vulnerable and I have previously written that if a conflict between the U.S. and Iran starts, the US will have its aircraft carriers at a safe distance. The issue extends beyond just Iran and the U.S.; it is also significantly related to the anticipated conflict between China and Taiwan. In my opinion, the U.S. does not wish to grant China any benefits in light of that conflict. A significant issue for the U.S. is that lacking aircraft carriers in a region at the onset of a conflict results in a loss of combat capability. This includes the ability to conduct sustained high-tempo air operations with numerous daily sorties. Without these carriers, you also miss out on integrated air defense suppression and electronic warfare in contested airspace. If the U.S. conducts strikes on Iran without the involvement of aircraft carriers, it suggests that it is assessing its military strength without these assets. This could be seen as a precursor to a confrontation with China..........

Contrary to popular belief, nuclear aircraft carriers are not inherently better than conventional carriers. In fact, in many scenarios a conventional carrier is better. Conventional carriers have better : 🔹Damage reliance. 🔹 Repair flexibility. Conventional carriers can limp back to homeport if engineering spaces are intact, while nuclear powered carriers would need to shut down the reactors, if any breeches were sustained anywhere near it. Hot work repairs are not possible in areas near the reactors, many specialist personnel and containment protocols are needed. This makes repairs while the carrier is still operation impossible for a nuclear powered carrier. Nuclear powered carriers may have better global deployment flexibility due to better endurance, but conventional carriers are still the better option for China, because our strategic challenges are mostly within 2000km of our coastline. So the future Chinese carrier battle groups will be a mix of nuclear and conventionally powered carriers.
