Tesla could easily add this feature

On the new model X they lock the wheel if you’re at a standstill and you try to get into the next lane while a car is coming. So yea, the SW is already there. They just need to add a line of code to temporarily disable lock presses and/or alert you at that same moment.

It would be cool if they could make the light on the door handle turn red when there’s a car aproaching.

They will never add a feature that disables the door for any reason

So it should send an alert when you press the door button? Using what as a guide? A car in the frame? If so what would happen if the car is parked? Imagine if it threw up the error every time you parked and there was a car behind you. They can do this while you’re driving and

Great idea. Tesla really needs to have a better way to file bugs and enhancement requests than exist now. There are a lot of passionate customers with great ideas, who could help accelerate things.

Agreed, Tesla really lacks behind in some safety aspects. Should follow Mercedes here.
