These are the resources necessary to train a car to do what a human brain can accomplish with the power equivalent of 20 watts. It will eventually surpass human ability, but still amazing to see what it takes to get there.

NEWS: Tesla Megapack’s help power the training jobs at xAI’s new 100,000 Nvidia GPU cluster. xAI found millisecond power fluctuations when GPUs start training, causing issues with power infrastructure. The solution was to use generators to charge the Tesla Megapacks, which then discharge to power the training jobs.

Another flyover of a major construction project at Giga Texas, this one Cortex 2.0 where AI training for the Optimus Robot (and possibly some FSD training) is taking lace. The plant is still partially operational with about half of the Megapacks & cooling systems installed while the second half is well under way to be completed later this summer/early fall. Once completed, I expect there to be about 260 Megapacks dedicated just for Cortex 2 operation, while there is already another 72 Megapacks in operation for Cortex 1, located on the south end of the main factory,. Cortex 2 is located just south of the new Optimus 10M/yr run rate factory which itself is under construction, so this is a convenient location for both her at Giga Texas!

The Netherlands might be the first country in Europe to get Supervised FSD & in anticipation of that, Michael van Zandvoort from Tesla Magazine Michel van Zandvoort came to the USA to test both FSD 13.2.9 & Tesla Robotaxi along with getting a tour Giga Texas! Tesla asked me to give him a few robotaxi rides just before we went to the factory & here is what Michael had to say about his first hand experiences & his expectations for FSD approval in the Netherlands!
