This is the worst tutorial i've ever seen for this mode. Tells you nothing. Please look at good YT tutorials before you freak out on the line with cars behind you. Tesla put the least amount of thought into this mode

Car wash mode sucks because it is not intuitive. Hit the brake to free roll is ridiculous.

The worst 'mode' by far ever created by Tesla. Terrible.

Terrible tutorial. Car wash mode needs a lot of work if you ever use car washes that move the car through. Tesla should talk to the guys at the beginning of the car wash who see the struggle.

Hit brake pedal to free wheel is just stupid 🤪

They gotta remove the trunk open button 😭 or at least move it, had a panic attack when I accidentally pressed it in the middle of a rolling car wash

I guess scratch protection is also part of "wash mode" then... lmao

Plus you have to put in manually in Neutral. And why are the mirrors not folding automatically as part of car wash mode?

So I can use a regular brush car wash? I’ve heard been told the regular car wash will scratch up the paint on Teslas

That video is not the most descriptive for the first time Tesla owner. Getting set up and going through a very busy high quality wash system tunnel, things move fast Getting set to free wheel in the track, for beginners, can be semi nerve racking. Same for popping out the other end. Both require defined applications of brake pedal at just the wrong time.

I still think it sucks. My car wash I have to use free roll and if you don't click it in time the car wash will drag the car.... Can't be good.

Terrible video. It completely fails to address the super confusing part of car wash mode which is getting it an and out of Neutral.

Isn’t touch free best?

Not super helpful.

Doesn't Tesla, due to their inferior paint, recommend touchkess car washes? Crazy they show a spinning brush wash.

For the model 3 it’s much harder to find neutral! Until you know :)

Fighting with car wash mode at the automatic car wash… “This is your life and it’s ending one minute at a time.” @elonmusk please make it better for us plebeians.

@Grok, tell me if I’m wrong, but I was told not to go to a laundromat with rollers because it could damage the paint since Tesla’s paint job is thinner than the industry standard.

Actually you don't even have to go through all that. When I pull into a car wash, it automatically knows and asks if I want car wash mode, I hit a button on the screen to activate it.

I use it regularly but doing only manual self service washing, brushes will damage your paint. My detailer told me so and I respect his opinion

Wait, it deactivates automatically above 10kph? I don’t have to switch it off? Are the mirrors folding back too?

But you have to close the side mirrores yourself? Lol

The brushes damage the clear coat. I never use that kind of car wash.

Too many touches. My Model X adds one more touch, and I am not happy with it.

I just can’t do it fast enough before the roller hits and I stop the whole tunnel.

You don’t really love your Tesla unless you hand wash it.

I used it last week. It worked like a charm.

Now, if they would just make the tires protrude out a few millimeters more to protect the rims from the guiderail
