Tesla Tesla Robotaxi ride two with my nephew. The car struggled to find a place to drop us and just kept circling. Support or the car changed the drop-off location. Circled again, then support got on the line with the car. Then it went for a tight parallel park and almost had it. Backed in, straightened out, then decided no and pulled out of the spot entirely. Support was eventually able to stop the car curbside and we got out.

Humans beat AI at parking. For now. On the way, just now, to a family member’s house we passed by Tesla’s Fremont factory. All employee lots full. Means somewhere around 4,000 people are inside building robots. And working on Optimus. It is always like this. If you own a car factory you must run it 24-hours-a-day 365 days a year. Learned that on the Ford factory tour in Detroit. Oh and regarding parking our Tesla got eight spaces too far from bakery we had to hit up to get goodies. So I stepped on the brake. Taking over. And parked myself. At the We Robot Tesla event I met a group of AI engineers who worked at Tesla. They say that makes the system better. I believe. It did the rest of the drive perfectly. Including parking at their house. When it works it is magic. Millions of Tesla customers do this. So who will soon know more about parking than any other company? I predict it will park better than human by the end of the year. But what Tesla is potentially studying about the real world is stunning. How long will it take to answer this: “how long is the line at my favorite taco shack?” Not long.

This weekend, I spent about an hour total riding in the back seat of my Model Y while using the updated Actually Smart Summon, across four different parking lots, some of them very busy. The car handled everything very well. Its behavior felt so natural that hardly anyone even noticed it was driving itself lol. The improvements with Actually Smart Summon in FSD V14.3.2 are notable. Tesla recently unified the model between Actually Smart Summon, FSD, and Robotaxi for more capable and reliable behavior. The car now pulls over in a much more natural and robotaxi like way, and responds instantly to app input. When you initiate the summon, it starts driving immediately. If you lift your finger off the button, it stops immediately. If someone is backing out, the car will recognize that and react before you could. Also, zero connection issues. You can feel Tesla laying the ground work for banish in the future. I'd like to see the max operating speed increased above 6 MPH. If you get FSD V14.3.2, definitely go try out the updated Actually Smart Summon. Here's some of my testing:

You almost got the over off in the engine bay and you notice a bolt you can’t seem to find a socket for. You call the dealer and they tell you what sizes you need. So you call around and find a tool shop that carries it, you now find out why the service at the dealer was so pricey. The socket set you need to do the job is $49,000 dollars. The tool you need to fix your car literally costs more than the car. Is it safe to say you are going to take it to be done at the dealer?
