Elon Musk posted earlier in the year that Tesla had improved programming to bring the 98% score even higher. Tesla can does this with programming and over the air updates. Why can’t other manufacturers match Tesla’s score? Because they only can sense SOMETHING is there—not WHAT is there. This difference is why Tesla’s vision based active safety system scores higher than the LiDAR or Sensor systems of other manufacturers on European safety agency’s ratings. Identifying potential THREATS early, and tracking if the threat materializes gives Tesla a head start. Tesla’s cameras see, and respond earlier to prevent a collision. How? By Tesla’s cameras and smart neural nets identify that is a kid or a dog or a bicyclist that may cross into the path long before the movement into the path of the Tesla is made, Everyone purchaser of a Tesla has active safety—even if they haven’t purchased autopilot or FSD. Every Tesla has the cameras and FSD computers installed.
