We tried this with an M-100 when we were kids. The pot didn’t fly, it blew up and shrapnel went all over the street. Nothing was damaged and thankfully nobody got hurt. It was stupid. We had to switch to bigger cans.

You can get more altitude by putting a hole in the bottom of the pan just large enough for the firecracker then place the firecracker in the hole ... turn the pan over into a shallow pan of water then light the fuse. Did it with coffee cans when I was a kid and sent them out of sight

What gives fireworks their colors When elements are heated, they emit a characteristic color spectrum

It seems between 40-50% power, the pan slows down when they reach a certain velocity.

% is not a unit to express power.

What I'd like to know is what company made that pot. This would make quite an ad for them.
