A year ago today, I went home. Little did I know I would venture to the slums of Mumbai, where some of my family originated from generations ago. It’s a story I share with some who won the lottery of being raised with something. My Hindi left a little to be desired but I was honored to help bring education with Hi5India and the global language of basketball to 4000 kids along with this very special one. As we celebrate a coming New Year, important to look back with this never before seen BTS on my trip home to India. Hope it’s one many connect to in their hearts.

I don’t understand in what world we’re living… or on what planet this could ever be normal. Just a few hours ago, everything was fine. I went out with Rafif and my wife—just a simple outing for Rafif, to lift her spirits and help her cope with her pain and exhaustion. But suddenly, in a single moment… everything changed. The bombing returned, and death returned to the streets of Gaza. This was a photo of Rafif as we were heading to the market… and shortly after, everything turned into fear and unimaginable terror.

Like a lot of people my age my first adventures in storytelling was playing with Star Wars figures as a kid. So when I did this quick test of kinetix video I tested it out with a Star Wars theme. What you’re seeing on the left is the driving video and staring frame. Then you chose a camera action (Dolly in etc) and write a prompt. Then kinetix aimates your character and moves the camera. It’s great to see performance controled generations coming to AI video and the team have more control coming on the roadmap. I am looking forward to testing out with some original footage and images when I get sometime soon.

This might be the best synthetic performance I have got from a video model. We can generate 30-second shots and create near seamless extensions (with a bit of post blending) for far longer sequences, powered by Seedance Enterprise 2.5. I set out to test this out by making the scene below all-in-one shot. I wrote the script, built the character references in Seedream and then broke the script down to two 30 second prompts. The prompts were really detailed with pauses, gestures and emotional shifts and the model delivered on all of them. I was really impressed with the performance and voices which were generated in the model. Previously, AI film scenes had to be composed of short cuts, now we have options on pacing, and nuance... we can let our scenes breathe. All this done with only around 3 rolls per take, we have left the slot machine age of AI video Gen behind and are now in the age of control. Next for me will be testing real actors performance as a reference to drive the generation. Seedance 2.5 API is about to launch on BytePlus , and Lumina will also roll out Seedance 2.5 soon.

Ok, this is absurd. You can choreograph a complex action scene in Blender with basic shapes, then let Seedance make it real. You need to try this AI filmmaking workflow: 1. Generate a start frame in Midjourney 2. Block out the action in Blender 3. Feed both to Seedance My Blender reference was just rough timing, camera shake, and spatial choreography, and Seedance tracked the speed, motion, and action way better than I expected. This is the difference between describing a shot and directing one.

Finally got our hands on Seedance 2.0 (through YouArt) and ran it head-to-head with Kling AI 3.0. Here’s what stood out: Seedance 2.0’s physics feel stronger right away. The movement just looks more natural and realistic, especially in bigger physical actions. It also handles continuity across multiple shots from a single prompt better than I expected, which makes scene building a lot easier. And on the audio side, the lip sync generally holds up better than Kling. But here’s the tradeoff: Both models struggle with fine details. Background faces and smaller elements still get a bit messy. Seedance currently outputs at 720p, while Kling 3.0 supports 1080p, so Kling has the edge in overall sharpness. Even with upscaling, Seedance doesn’t fully recover those tiny details.
