Testing out the new Sydenham Bypass ...

It is testament to the @deptinfra hopeless development of cycle infrastructure that they put no protection on the duel carriageway. They would rather put cyclists on footpaths than give them protected room on the road.

Jesus wept… can you imagine heading into town closest to the carriageway? One lapse of concentration of any one driver and you’re paste. Stunning incompetence to close the bypass for weeks on end, resurface everything and neglect to run a partition.

Nobody in their right mind is going to cycle there. It has essentially excluded cyclists from a key route into Belfast. Whoever designed it should be made to ride up and down until they apologise.

Why in the name of god when they were doing all this work did they not make the cycle lane protected... How much more work could it possibly have been!?!
