The family still runs French Oil Company. Permian gas is exactly what off-grid AI campuses buy. 💠 Political money from oil, not from Equinix or AWS. The large documented checks are from the Tim Dunn / Farris Wilks orbit (Texas Freedom Fund), oil billionaires, not data-center PACs of the kind tied to Paxton. That still aligns him with producers who GAIN if data centers keep burning Permian gas. The same can be said of Mayes Middleton and Middleton Oil. 💠 On Aug. 7, 2026 he called Amazon’s reported 7.65 GW off-grid gas plant for a Pecos County AI campus “great news” and rejected treating CO₂ as pollution. If he wins an RRC seat, that same class of plants and wells sits inside the agency he would help regulate. 💠 West Texas is building the product line around Bo French. Midland County already has platforms (e.g., FO Permian Partners / HiVolt) marketing behind-the-meter gas + land + water + fiber for data centers. Reporting links those sponsors to Frenchs oil and gas special interests. They show why a Midland oil family and a deregulatory RRC candidate have a structural interest even without a 13D filing. Bo French treats the AI boom as a reason to produce more Texas gas with LESS OVERSIGHT, which is exactly what OFF-GRID data-center campuses need, especially in regards to Texas most precious resource, WATER!
