Just a hard working man trying to provide for his wife and kids. I had the opportunity to drive him home and experience this moment. No family should be separated. Shortly after 5 pm yesterday, Deputies responded to a call for a dog in distress in the area of 228th and Harney Street, just south of Waterloo. When they arrived they were informed by homeowners that a dog had fallen through the ice on the lake and was treading water. Deputy Kubik, a DCSO K9 handler, made use of a kayak that was on one of the homeowner's docks and quickly made his way across the ice, using his oar to break the ice as he paddled to the dog. About the time he reached the dog, Waterloo Fire & Rescue also arrived and assisted in pulling Deputy Kubik and Boomer the dog back to shore. Once on shore, Deputy Clark took the 'chilly dog' inside to warm him up with a hair dryer. We are happy to report that after a brief vet visit yesterday, Boomer is doing great. Thank you to our courageous Deputies and our partners at Waterloo Fire and Rescue for their assistance.

This is Marcus, and his accidental service dog, Gunner. Marcus served 3 deployments to Afghanistan. For years, he’s woken up at 3am, drenched in sweat, convinced he’s in back in Kandahar. Gunner came to the family when his owner passed away, which was a neighbor of Marcus. On the first night they had him, Marcus had a nightmare, and Gunner immediately jumped on his chest, and laid on him. For the first time in years, Marcus didn’t thrash, and was able to just breath, despite almost 80lbs of weight on him. Gunner laid on him for 2hrs+ that night. sometimes i think abt how hardworking and disciplined minho has been for all his life .. he volunteered at elderly homes, he took on multiple jobs while also studying to afford dance classes, he lived alone at a young age, he donated to sponsor children, he gave what he could to others even when he didn’t have much himself.. he took in stray kitties without hesitation and without even asking his mom first, just cus of how kind his heart is… </3 and even while he was working towards his dream he put others before himself along the way.. he never head it easy, he was never given anything for free… he always had to work hard for it and he never complained he got eliminated on the survival show for the sole reason of using his pain for engagement. he walked home in the rain cus he felt like he didn’t deserve a taxi. they broke him and disrespected him and he still showed up the next day to keep going and give everything he has. his dedication and commitment is insane ;; it honestly makes me so emotional… i feel sad thinking abt everything he went thru but at the same time i know this was always his dream. i don’t care abt streams or charts at all but seeing where the group is now just gives me so much relief. it means all his effort and hard work wasn’t for nothing :( i’m just rly proud for him… i’m so glad he got to achieve what he worked so hard for. today he’s able to buy the prettiest toys and treats for his kitties, able to spoil his family, able to casually buy a gucci bag for his dads bday… his face is on the biggest screens, everyone knows him. he must feel so accomplished </3 u came so far. i’m so so so proud of u minho. u deserve everything u have and so much more

Once I realized it was him, I answered, told him not to contact me again, and hung up. He immediately called back from the same number. Meet Dainampalli Praveen Kumar Praveen secured UPSC 793 rank in the results announced yesterday. He earlier topped the Telangana Group 1 exam and is working as a DSP. There are many toppers from Telugu states but Praveen’s story is truly special. Who is Praveen? Praveen is from a small village near Eturnagaram, Mulugu district, Telangana. Praveen lost his father to illness when he was just six years old. His mother was a sanitation worker in the local municipality. She used to sweep roads, clean drainages and on her off days used to work in nearby farms. She did everything she could to get Praveen and his two siblings educated. Praveen decided to help his mother and worked as a newspaper boy and also used to go work in the fields with his mother for daily wages during vacations. But in 2013, even his mother passed. Praveen went into severe depression but his mother’s words were ringing in his ears. “Education alone can change our lives. I don’t want my children to become sanitation workers & drivers like us”, she apparently used to tell her children every night. His grandmother’s income as sanitation worker was their only source of steady income. The old woman took her daughter’s responsibilities on her. Praveen soon learned that he doesn’t need too much money to reach his dream. He researched about scholarships, Govt Study circles and university facilities. He moved to Hyderabad and finished BTech at Osmania University. But Covid hit and the study circle had to be shut. He went back to his village and requested a private school nearby to use a small room to study. They obliged. He also motivated his younger brother who struggled to pass intermediate to continue his education. This came out of nowhere. Took him to the Vet ER last Sunday night. We were told he had double pneumonia and needed to stay. Yesterday he had a little bit of improvement. Early this morning the Vet called and said hurry to get here. When we arrived they were doing CPR so we could tell him goodbye. We literally had seconds and then he was gone. I’m heartbroken over this. Bugsy Malone celebrated his 10th birthday last month and he was a Seizure Alert dog for my wife who suffers from seizures due to having 9 brain tumors. Our daughter is having a hard time with this as she starts school this week. I appreciate those who sent us well wishes and prayers during this time.

During the confrontation, he challenged one of the agents to take off his badge so they could fight. Threatening federal agents while they’re carrying out an arrest isn’t going to stop the operation. It’s just a fast way to create even more problems for yourself.

This is Brown Bunny. I call him “The OG” sometimes. I told Charlotte that he arrived at our doorstep from Bunnyland before she was born, carrying a blanket and some snacks. He told us he was here to wait for his best friend, Charlotte, and from the day we gave him to her, they’ve been inseparable. Like the Velveteen Rabbit, he’s been well-loved and the years are definitely showing. But he’s the best Brown Bunny a little girl could ever want and he’ll be with her for as long as she needs him.
