Texas Gov. Greg Abbott vowed to call “special session after special session after special session” in response to Democratic lawmakers who have fled the state to block redistricting legislation, saying the lawmakers may have to stay out of Texas for years to prevent it from becoming law.

Hundreds of Texans died during Winter Storm Uri, and he was trying to flee Texas with his suitcase. So, if anybody has fled or is abandoning their responsibilities, it’s leaders like Ted Cruz, Cornyn, and Governor Abbott. After we had COVID, which took so many lives, the governor didn’t call a special session to deal with it. When we had Uri, he didn’t call a special session to deal with the 700 Texans who perished. He has only called this special session because he wants to do the bidding of Donald Trump.
