Texas is going from 40 Data Centers to over 400 in the next 2 years - Texas could use 30% of US data center power demand by 2028 - By 2030 the Texas data centers could use 161 billion gallons of water per year - The 400 data centers will use the equivalent of 9 million homes in energy usage every year I don’t want to EVER hear the words climate change ever again

State Rep. Gina Hinojosa, Democratic candidate for Texas governor, says Gov. Greg Abbott's temporary pause on approvals for new data centers "is an attempt to protect his reelection chances, not the people of Texas." "Texans have real concerns. These hyper-scale data centers have hyper-scale impacts on our communities when it comes to our grid, our water and just our way of life," she says. "And Texans want protections, and rightfully so."

Did you know that only 17% of the 413+ data centers are reporting on water usage in Texas? Now you do.

Woman who lives in Virginia says her county alone has over 50 Data Centers and now they are being asked to conserve both power and water “Our temperatures are about to hit an average of 120° across the state, but you want us to preserve water and power so the data centers can run, and we're going to be the ones fitting the bill for all that power that gets used up” She’s absolutely correct I verified that parts of Virginia are sending conservation requests to residents For those that don’t know how bad it is in Virginia Data Center Alley alone in Northern Virginia hosts the world’s largest concentration of data centers, around 600–685 facilities with many more planned Things are only going to get worse

Greg Abbott started the data center madness in Texas. He has the power to stop it TODAY. I'm calling on Abbott to sign an emergency executive order to declare a moratorium on new data centers until he calls the legislature until a special session.

A local utility company in Illinois has plans to help lower residents electrical bills They will be requiring new data centers and planned data centers to sign 10 year contracts saying they will be responsible for paying for upgrade costs and electricity usage costs “That means any new data centers would be on the hook for power upgrades and any energy they plan to use, even if the data center ends up not getting built or if they don't use as much power as planned or if they close. So if they use the power that they're applying for, then they'll pay their fair share of the cost of maintaining and building our grid through their rates”

Guess what’s really causing the droughts and future food shortages in the state of Texas? San Antonio data centers consumed 463 million gallons of water while the region faced extreme drought conditions. Data centers in the area use water equivalent to tens of thousands of households, even as residents faced Stage 3 watering restrictions. By 2030, Texas data center water consumption is projected to reach 399 billion gallons annually, accounting for 6.6% of the state's total water use. Meanwhile, Gov. Abbott, a neocon Zionist, sent TROOPS to Texas universities to brutally assault pro-Palestine students. Abbott also Signed a Blackmail Bill Prohibiting State Contracts and Investments with Companies that Boycott the Terrorist State Of Israel Signed on May 2nd, 2017. Trust the plan! All this winning!

VIDEO: Texas Gov. Abbott calls for regulations on data centers, contrasting previous stance FOX 4 NEWS ... AUSTIN, Texas - Texas Gov. Greg Abbott on Wednesday called for sweeping regulations on data centers to be passed by the legislature in the 2027 session. It's a change in stance for Abbott, who previously worked to make Texas the epicenter of the data center buildout. In a letter to the Public Utilities Commission of Texas and the Electric Reliability Council of Texas, Abbot laid out his ideas to hold data centers accountable and ensure the costs of their growth are not passed on to taxpayers. Abbott called for new centers to add power generation to the state's power grid while paying for their own infrastructure costs and connection to the grid. The letter also calls for the mandated use of closed-loop water systems and annual reporting on electricity and water use by data centers. The governor is also calling on lawmakers to repeal sales tax exemptions and "other outdated or unnecessary incentives" for data centers. Data centers would also be required to consider the communities by reducing their impact through measures such as reducing noise. "As Texas continues to welcome innovation and investment, we must ensure that growth strengthens our people and their quality of life without placing undue burdens on Texans and local communities," Abbott wrote in the letter. In the letter, Abbott directed PUC and ERCOT to submit a joint memorandum by July 17 outlining actions they've taken to prevent risks and added costs to taxpayers because of data center development. At least one lawmaker applauded the move as state Rep. Helen Kerwin praised Abbott for "protecting Texas ratepayers." "As these projects are proposed across Texas, we must PROTECT our water resources, rural communities, and state parks while bringing greater transparency and accountability to the process," Kerwin said on X. Kerwin has come out against the explosive expansion of data centers in the past, calling for full impact studies before development. "Economic development matters. Innovation matters. Jobs matter. But our water and our power are not negotiable," she said in February. Cal Jillson, a political scientist, tells FOX 4's David Sentendrey that Abbott's recent comments are at odds with his past stance on data centers. "The Governor has worked very hard to make Texas the epicenter of the data center buildout," Jillson said. ERCOT delivered a warning in April that Texas power demand could quadruple by 2032, mostly driven by data centers, population increases and oil production. Jillson also believes Abbott, who is seeking re-election this November, sees the potential for political backlash for other Republican campaigns. "He is sitting on $130 million, he’s gonna win easily but he knows that there are some races down ticket. Maybe even the U.S. Senate race, certainly the Texas Railroad Commissioner race, which have weaker Republicans that he needs to worry about," Jillson continued. "He’s got to try to be sure that Republicans hold the Texas House and Senate by large margins. So that’s what he’s trying to do, just position the Republican Party more than himself so they’re not taking blame for the data center buildout." The move comes as communities and local leaders push back against the rapid expansion of data centers in the state. Last month, Hill County officials placed a moratorium on new data centers in their county. The move was met with a lawsuit from developers. Officials rescinded the moratorium last week in response to the pressure from the lawsuit and issued a checklist for new large-scale development in the county. The Angelina County Commissioners Court advised residents to contact state lawmakers during Tuesday night's meeting after hearing public comments about a proposed data center located outside the Lufkin city limits. "We have no authority to do a moratorium or to stop any type of development in the county," Angelina County Judge Keith Wright said. "The Texas legislators have consciously limited what we can do, and they've done it on purpose."

ABC News investigated and found more than 3,000 data centers are already operating nationwide At least 1,000 more planned Residents near data centers are seeing much as 50%+ increases on their electric bills “ABC7 has also been covering public meetings over proposed data centers and there are questions about water use and the environment. The i-team in ABC News studied this private company's data center map and found that there are at least 4,302 data center projects across the U.S. Large and small. Of those, 3,038 are currently operational with another 1,203 either under construction or plan for construction. 61 have acquired land. In Illinois, there are 164 operating data centers with another 81 planned for construction. The largest state project plan is in Yorkville. It would be 2 gigawatts and according to the ABC7 data team would use the same energy that would power approximately 1.7 million homes more than every home in the city of Chicago.”

Data centers need power, water, and land so of course they’re looking at Michigan. But how should we look at them? When I'm governor, we're going to have a one-year moratorium on all data centers so we can dig into the details and evaluate. Families must come first.

🚨 NOW: VP JD Vance says data centers are NOT controversial as long as they produce their own energy "You should be putting power BACK into the grid — not taking it out. If that happens, data centers are not that controversial." "Build the power plants WITH the data centers. Probably 99% of the backlash to data centers came from areas where building it means higher utility and electricity for the people on the ground." "These companies should take advantage of federal deregulatory efforts we've undertaken." JD and Trump are 100% correct!
