This is Allen High School in Allen, Texas, just 25 miles outside of Dallas. Over 1,772 students were in the graduating class. 18,000 people were in attendance inside their football stadium. The graduation lasted almost 4 hours. 🥵 The enrollment at Allen HS is well over 5k students. 😳 Allen, Texas only has one high school. The school is huge. If you were passing it you would think it was a University. Many of the surrounding cities have one or two or more high schools, Allen has remained at one. They are a powerhouse in athletics, especially football. Their graduating class had more people than my entire high school had. 🤯 Have you ever seen a graduating class that big? Have you ever seen a high school football stadium that big? Anyone staying for 4 hours?

This man was expecting his new furniture delivery, he took the day off from work so that he could have them carry the heavy new ones in since he was alone. Later that day during their ridiculously long delivery window, he gets a text saying that he missed the delivery and to click a link to reschedule. He was confused because he’s been home all day and he never gotten any indication anyone came. He checked his door cam and saw that they did come, pretended to ring the doorbell while taking a picture to prove to the boss that they came, and then left. At this point he had already taken out the old sofas and his living room is bare, he has nowhere to sit now and the next delivery window isn’t for a few days next week, what would you have done in this situation?

So I have to tell you what is going on in my life. This last month has been overwhelming for me. By that I mean that I just didn't want to go on after Vinnie died. He wasn't the first to leave me but he was different. When my illness got worse, Vinnie wouldn't leave me. I just didn't have a reason to care anymore. I started looking online at adoptable Chihuahuas and thought I had found one here in Oregon but was turned down because I couldn't take her for 2-3 walks a day and because I didn't have a large attached yard. A "X" friend found this little guy in Texas. The rescue has waved his adoption fee and my "X" friend is paying for the transportation cost. Please welcome "Tank". He left Texas this morning and should be here by Sunday. His family surrendered him (at age 9) to a high kill shelter and a small rescue was able to pull him. Now he will be with me for the rest of his life. He does have cataracts but I am hoping to find help with surgery through large discounts at Oregon Humane because of my age and with help from my Vet if he needs it. Right now he isn't at that point. He had two lumps removed and is cancer free. I hope that Vinnie would approve because Tank isn't replacing him. No one will ever replace him. I will let you know when he gets here.

The student's mother is fuming at school officials for failing to prevent the protest, arguing that children are too young to make informed decisions. This valedictorian at Cardington-Lincoln High School in Ohio said a good part of his graduation speech was removed before the graduation ceremony and that he was interrupted after not staying on script during the ceremony. You can see the principal walk up and shove him away from the podium. 😳 The school district said it followed proper procedures for graduation speeches and tried to create a positive experience for all the graduates. The Class of 2026 valedictorian, Brandon Hughes, said the message he wanted to deliver was aimed at students who may not always feel seen or felt excluded. “My message originally was never intended to be about the school. It was never intended to be any personal insult,” Hughes said. “My heart when I wrote that speech was truly about the kids who feel less seen.” Hughes said school officials required him to remove portions of the speech he submitted for approval. Brandon said his grad speech was meant to give encouragement to his classmates and to let them know that their futures are not defined by their high school experience. Also, when he opened his graduation envelope there was no diploma inside. He received it after the ceremony. His mother said she could see the look in Brandon’s eyes when he realized there was no diploma and it broke her heart. I think it is commendable that Brandon wanted to let the students who may not have had a positive high school experience know that their high school years are just a blip on the radar screen and to not let it define them. 👏 Good for you Brandon! I don’t see anything wrong with the message you intended to give. And I think it would have given someone who didn’t have a great experience in high school some hope. 💯 Do you think the school was justified in cutting him off and pushing him aside from the podium since they were following their protocol? Or, do you think that he should have been able to give his full speech since he earned it with his hard work in becoming the Class valedictorian?

Tragedy struck Islamic Senior High School at Abrepo in Kumasi, Ashanti Region, when a Form Three student, identified only as Abass, fell to his d£ath from the top floor of the school’s administration block. The incident occurred in broad daylight during school hours, leaving students and staff deeply shocked as many rushed to the scene. Reports indicate that prior to the incident, Abass, a Business student who was serving as Boys’ Prefect, had allegedly been caught in an inappropriate situation with a female student by a teacher. The matter was reported to the school authorities, who subsequently summoned Abass’s mother for a disciplinary meeting to discuss the issue and determine appropriate consequences. According to persons close to the family, including his mother and uncle, as well as some students, Abass became deeply distressed after learning that his mother had been called to the school and even informed her of his intention to hàrm himself. Those who knew him revealed that he had been struggling emotionally for some time and had previously made statements about taking his own lïfe. Tragically, his family members and peers reportedly did not take these warnings seriously, assuming he was not serious. School authorities confirmed they had no prior knowledge or indication of his su!c!dal intentions. The bòdy of the deceased has since been laid to rest in accordance with Islamic tradition.

Throughout practice, he was working on beating double teams and sifting through offensive linemen. Another facet of his game, he is fine-tuning before his final high school season. Green is one of the most complete players you will find in the 2027 cycle, regardless of position. He has a very polished game.

"We do adoption events every month. Yesterday was our biggest one. Forty-two dogs found homes. It was a wonderful day. Winston did not find a home. He is eleven years old. He is large. He is silver-gray and his whole muzzle is white and his eyes are the color of a winter morning and he is the gentlest dog I have ever put on a leash. He sat in the same spot for six hours. He did not pace. He did not bark. He watched every dog around him get chosen and he wagged his tail for every family that walked past him without stopping. Every single one. For six hours. At 5pm when the last family had left and the last car had pulled out of the parking lot I turned around and Winston was sitting at the edge of the empty lot wagging his tail at the space where the people had been. I sat down on the asphalt beside him. I put my hand on his silver back. He leaned into me. I don't have a word for what I felt. I have worked in rescue for nine years. I have never sat on a parking lot asphalt at the end of a failed adoption event and felt so completely undone and so completely certain simultaneously. Undone because he deserves everything. Certain because he is going to be okay. Both at the same time. Both because of him. He wagged at the empty parking lot. That is who Winston is. That is who he has been every day of his eleven years. President Carter’s time on this earth is coming to an end according to his grandson Jason Carter. What a great man. At 99 he has accomplished so much. With an election coming up let’s remember all he has done for voting rights. Jason Carter: "My grandfather is doing okay. He has been in hospice, as you know, for almost a year and a half now, and he really is, I think, coming to the end. I’ve said before, there’s a part of this faith journey that is so important to him, and there’s a part of that faith journey that you only can live at the very end and I think he has been there in that space."
