She is referring to the Texas Wolf Spider. They don’t make webs but hunt primarily on the ground. They are very good for insect control and are non-venomous. Since we have a ton of insects in Texas these spiders can grow quite large. Just coax him into a cup and put him outside.

I don't like spiders either. We have wolf spiders, Eastern Tarantulas in Vermont. They're as big as your hand , I had one fall out of a tree and landed on my shoulder while I was swimming in the River. I almost drowned. I never knew that. But I know it now.
