Texas Republicans passed legislation to replace school counselors with untrained religious chaplains. But you can stop them at the local level. Tell your school board to say NO to chaplains in our public schools.

Every school board in the state is required to vote on employing chaplains in their public schools. And the deadline to vote is March 1st. It's likely that your local school board is debating whether to replace counselors with chaplains right now.

School boards are the frontline in the fight against Christian Nationalism. Religious extremists are trying to indoctrinate our kids. Call your school board trustees and tell them to protect our students.

The Handmaids Tale reality is coming faster than I anticipated

Chaplains have no experience in recommending higher education goals, career choices or just about anything else having to do with a student's education. I thought that was the very definition of a councilor's job description.

Rep @jamestalarico has a great reminder here. SB763 says we need to allow uncertified untrained religious chaplains to get into public schools so they can stop the indoctrination. 🤔

How about a rabbi? Or an imam? Do those count?

Religious men of any sect combined with the presence of children, is always without fail a toxic brew for the children! What could possibly go wrong in Texas?

Please keep fighting this fight.

@pgmckim There should be no chaplains in any public schools.
