Tex-Mex is a Texas thing 🤠

It is Mexican food! So you’re gonna culturally appropriate something that isn’t yours by just adding cheddar cheese, nacho cheese, sour cream, some ground beef?? 🤣🤣🤣

Saying Texmex isn't Mexican food is like saying the tamale isn't mesoamerican because it has pork. Grandma's everywhere changes things by adding a little extra which will set a trend.

Tex-Mex food is sadly being pushed aside by all the Taquerias popping up everywhere with “Mexican” food. Harder and harder to find Tex-Mex in South Texas.

Thank you for the history. I’m native West Texan, moved to Oklahoma and NO TEXMEX HERE. I crave the cumin, cilantro, spicy salsa and orange gravy! No comparison to’Mexican food’ in eastern Oklahoma. El Chico has NO PEPPERS! That’s not Mexican! 😁

When I moved to CA from TX for a brief period of time, I learned that I didn’t like Mexican food. I missed my Tex-Mex. Happily I’m back in the Lone Star State and can visit many restaurants that serve that delicious food I love.

Chips/salsa, 3 Enchilada dinner plate, one cheese, one beef w/ con-carne, one chicken w/ queso, Mexican rice/beans w/ cheese. Top them enchiladas off with japs and onions, half and half tea w/ lemon and ima happy Texan😉🤠
