Good one. And yes, coaches have the ability to see kids on a daily basis and make calls to play those they trust the most. But I’ve heard enough college coaches in the stands comment some coaches have no clue what they’re doing. I’ll put it this way. When you see a good coach these days it’s pretty obvious.

As a former MS, HS, NCAA 🏀coach I can attest to the veracity of these texts. One favorite example: Parent demands to see the AD as she blames racism for why her kid didn’t make Varsity. The AD relays: 1) “She didn’t complete the 1 mile requirement. In fact, she stopped jogging after an 1/8 of a mi." 2) “During 5 v 5, she fell w/the ball, then threw it 2-handed over her head towards the rim." 3) “She subbed herself out 2-min into the 5-min 5v5 drill." 4) “She fell 2 more times during drills." You think any of the 🔼 alleviated the anger?

@thecoachtube More appropriate conversation: Kid: Dad, I'm upset I'm not playing more. Dad: Go talk to your coach outside of practice and ask him/her what you should do or improve on to earn the time. Then come share with me and we will work on it together.
