49ers just wrapped up Block 2 of camp with a reminder of how good Brock Purdy is — even without his top 3 WR (Evans/Stribling injuries are NOT serious), Purdy's offense managed some crisp success: 🏈Demarcus Robinson was Purdy's favorite WR, reminiscent of when 49ers beat Philly with a skeleton crew. The deep out was the duo's bread and better 🏈Best play: Excellent one-handed catch from TE Brayden Willis on a corner route from Mac Jones. 🏈Deommodore Lenoir had two more PBUs — including one on a Purdy-Robinson deep out. CB1 been very active this camp and said this morning on KNBR that he's as locked in as ever 🏈6-3 rookie CB Ephesians Prysock notched a nice reaching PBU vs 5-9 Junior Bergen. 🏈Speaking of Bergen, he's making quite a few plays on offense and I wouldn't be quick to discount him in the punt return battle. FWIW, Bergen has made more offensive plays than Jacob Cowing, with whom he may be in a battle for a 53-man spot 🏈49ers did some red-zone work today where safety Ji'Ayir Brown had a nice, athletic PBU in the corner against TE Jake Tonges. While it is now most closely associated with Totonac peoples of Veracruz, in particular in Papantla, (hence once of its names), this intriguing danza was likely invention of Nahua, Huastecs and Otomi. The original significance of the Danza de los Voladores was, like many other Mesoamerican rituals, connected with fertility, corn, and the harvest. According to Totonac myth, the Danza de los Voladores originated as a way to appease the gods and end severe drought. This theory perhaps explains why the ritual is most closely associated with rain and solar gods such as Tlazotlteotl, Xipe and Totec, as well as notable solar events such as the Spring Equinox. The Danza de los Voladores has been significantly revived in recent years (albeit mainly for commercial purposes) and nowadays, it’s so important to the cultural heritage of Mexico that it was recognised by UNESCO in 2009. Typically, five men dressed in striking red and white outfits, bedecked with mirrored elements and rainbow headdresses representing sun and rainbows, respectively, shimmy up, as all men (voladores, or “flyers”) dance on a platform atop a pole, 30m high, before four of them proceed to tie themselves to the top of the pole with rope. The 5th member, known as Caporal, either plays the flute, bangs on a drum or sings at the top of pole. The 4 voladores (representative of the earth’s cardinal directions and elements) then launch themselves backwards from pole, beginning their elegant (but terrifying) descent towards the ground. While it may look rather ill-calculated, a total of 13 rotations are completed each totaling 52 and cleverly mirrors the years in the Aztec calendar’s ‘Century.’ At the end of the dance, they circle downward around the pole as the ropes that fasten them to it unwind. And unlike every other crisis in living memory, there is no off-ramp, no bailout phone, no adult in the room ready to talk everyone down from the ledge. Just the sound of chips hitting the floor and a man in a red hat somewhere telling everyone it’s going brilliantly. Which brings us, with a certain horrible logic, to Atlantic City. Because before Trump got his hands on the global economy, he practiced on a smaller scale. Three casinos, one boardwalk, and a financial philosophy that can be summarised as follows: borrow enormous sums at ruinous interest rates, collect a fat salary, and let someone else hold the bag when the whole thing goes sideways. He refined this technique over twenty-five years and four bankruptcies. It is, in retrospect, less a cautionary tale and more a dry run. Trump arrived in Atlantic City in the early 1980s with gold letters, junk bonds, and absolute certainty that he was about to reinvent American gambling. He ended up doing something rather different. His first casino was Trump Plaza, opened in 1984. Then came Trump’s Castle. Then the centrepiece: the Trump Taj Mahal, whose $1 billion construction was financed by junk bonds at an interest rate of 14 percent. Trump called it the eighth wonder of the world. It went bankrupt in 1991, less than a year after opening. That was just the warmup. His casino companies made four trips to bankruptcy court, each time persuading bondholders to accept less money rather than be wiped out. What We Observed On November 27, 2025, we monitored the movements of American-made Navistar 7000 military trucks loaded with light and heavy weapons and ammunition departing the central depots of the Taliban’s three principal military and intelligence institutions: the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Interior, and the GDI. Attached are videos so the Taliban understands that I am serious here. These trucks were ferrying weapons left behind by the United States, along with ammunition from Taliban-controlled depots in the Central and Eastern Zones, to newly constructed “classified” (oops, classified no longer) storage sites in Kandahar, Uruzgan, and Helmand provinces. These locations were chosen due to the Taliban’s historic strongholds during their twenty-year insurgency, but they forget that some of us made friends there, too. Why They Moved the Arsenal The relocation plan began immediately after recent Pakistani Air Force strikes on terrorist camps belonging to designated foreign terrorist organizations such as Al-Qaeda and Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), as well as on Taliban weapons stockpiles across Kabul, Nangarhar, Khost, Paktia, Paktika, Kunar, and Kandahar. The strikes rattled the Taliban’s leadership, and I enjoyed every second of the internal implosions, as they couldn’t find the source of the leak(s) that compromised their weapons depots. It finally hit them that their entire storage network had a massive vulnerability and was no longer safe or secure. The Order From Haibatullah The Taliban’s Supreme Leader Mullah Haibatullah personally ordered the redistribution of these weapons on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, during a meeting of the Taliban Cabinet’s Leadership Council at Mandigak Palace in Kandahar’s 2nd security district. While the meeting addressed other issues, including appointing a delegation led by Mullah Yaqoob for “peace” talks with Pakistan in Doha, Qatar, the core agenda was simple: secure the arsenal, move it far from Pakistan’s targeting reach, and hide it where outsiders (a reference to people like me) cannot locate it. They were so close to meeting all these objectives.
