Those are bees, not flies. They're attracted to the sugar.

I really hope that is an AI filter. One day im going to go to Thailand and last thing I would eat would be anything from an open market where the bug swarm is that thick.

Do you have to pay extra for the bugs?

"Would you eat that?" "I would eat that. The bugs are extra toppings."

When I was in China, I made sure to hit the street markets early in the morning before the flies covered everything.

Unpopular FACT: Artifical sweetners do NOT make you hungry You’ve probably heard some version of the following: "Artificial sweeteners make you hungry." "Sweet taste without calories confuses your brain." "They make you crave more sweets." You've probably heard some version of these claims before. The problem? The data keep refusing to cooperate. A new study, "Acute and prolonged effects of sweeteners and sweetness enhancers on postprandial appetite sensations, palatability, and ad libitum energy intake in humans," examined exactly this question If artificial sweeteners really increased hunger, cravings, or caused people to eat more later, this study should have found it. It didn't. Researchers found that consuming sweeteners and sweetness enhancers did not increase subsequent energy intake, did not meaningfully increase appetite, and did not lead participants to compensate by eating more later. In other words, the common claim that "sweet taste without calories tricks your brain into overeating" continues to lack support from actual human data. This is a great reminder that just because a mechanism sounds plausible doesn't mean it translates into real-world behavior. Humans aren't Petri dishes, and while people love inventing scary stories about artificial sweeteners, the totality of evidence continues to show that replacing sugar with low- or no-calorie sweeteners generally helps reduce calorie intake and can support fat loss. Your body isn't sitting there thinking: "Wait a second... that was sweet but not enough calories. Better order a large pizza." It doesn't work that way. This study showed people actually ate slightly less calories when consuming artificial sweeteners. This is in alignment with other studies demonstrating that artificial sweeteners decrease energy intake and reduce body fat in tightly controlled human RCTs (PMIDs: 40913681 & 39606579) As always, test hypotheses against data, not vibes.

"Synthetic Artificial Sweeteners Cause Damage To The Brain." Dr Robert Lustig, MD Chemical Sweetener Use Showed 289% Increase In Alzheimer's Disease. And 296% Greater Risk Of Ischemic Stroke. Daily Consumption Of These 6 Sweeteners Are Linked To Alzheimer's Dementia & Stroke. Some sugar substitutes come with consequences for long-term brain health... The artificial sweeteners examined were aspartame, sucralose, saccharin, acesulfame-K, erythritol, xylitol & sorbitol. These are found in ultra-processed foods like flavored water, soda, energy drinks, yogurt, diet candy, low calorie desserts, ice cream, etc. Some are also used as a standalone sweetener. Low- & no-calorie sweeteners are seen as a healthy alternative to sugar, research data shows certain sweeteners have very negative & harmful effects on brain health over time. The daily consumption of the amount of sweetener in just 1 can of diet soda with these artificial sugar substitutes showed 63% decline in cognitive function over the course of 8 years. The measured amount of artificial sweetener equates to approximately 1 teaspoon or 190 milligrams. 1 can of diet soda contains 200-300 milligrams of artificial sweetener. The findings are the latest to warn about the dangers posed by sweeteners. Previous studies on these sweeteners have already shown an increase risk of a range of diseases including type 2 diabetes, cancer, heart problems, depression & dementia, and damage the endothelial gut wall. Aspartame: Synthetically made by modifying Aspartic Acid & Phenylalanine. Linked to kidney & liver damage, anxiety, cognitive decline & DNA damage. Sucralose: Chemically made by replacing 3 hydroxyl groups with chlorine. It is a neurotoxin & carcinogen. Saccharin: Made from Toluene Coal Tar & undergoes oxidation, chlorination & ammoniation synthesis. Linked to bladder cancer & altered gut microbiome. Acesulfame-K: Laboratory made from reacting acetoacetic acid with fluorosulfonyl isocyanate. Linked to coronary heart disease, cancer & type 2 diabetes. Erythritol: Synthesized from GMO Corn. Causal for cardiovascular events & cerebrovascular damage. Xylitol: Commercially made from birch trees & GMO Corn. Can Cause GI distress. Highly toxic & deadly to dogs. Sorbitol: Synthetically made from GMO Corn. Causes blood glucose spikes & GI distress along with cognitive damage. Non Nutritive Sweeteners Found To Be Safe: Allulose Monk Fruit Stevia Leaf (If you do not have pre-existing heart issues or ragweed allergy, it is safe for most people) Safe Natural Sugar For Those Who Consume Carbs: Raw Honey Coconut Sugar Unrefined/Unbleached Turbinado Sugar Maple Syrup Molasses Date Sugar 👇Artificial Sweeteners Cause Dementia & Stroke👇 👇No Calorie Sweeteners & Cognitive Decline👇 👇8 Year Study On Cognitive Decline: Sweeteners👇 Speakers: Steven Bartlett & Dr Robert Lustig, MD Podcast: DiaryOfaCEO Video: theneurofactory
