At the end of a hot summers day my husband was watering our small vegetable patch. A kookaburra landed on our fence he looked tired thirsty and looked at the water from the hose. He put the water on sprinkle and the bird fluffed himself up got washed and cooled off.

don't make a bird drink water if the poor thing has its beak open because of the hot weather, the water can go to its lungs and cause death, instead pick the bird and put it in the shadow and pour some water in a recipient
