The Chinese PLA Southern Theater Command recently dispatched a naval task group headed by Type-055 guided-missile destroyer #Zunyi (Hull 107) to conduct training exercises in the waters east of the Philippine Luzon Island. The training exercises focused on live-fire drills, air-sea coordination, rapid maneuver, and replenishment at sea, aiming to test the troops’ joint operations capabilities. The training exercises are necessary operations carried out in response to the current regional situation, and are fully in compliance with international law and practice. The hall is pretty empty so we expect a number of spare seats 🤔 Flight from Heathrow Airport was great, managed to get some shut eye 💤. Sleep is important on this final leg: departing in the dark and arriving early doors at Sydney Airport. I’ve attached a short video of the touchdown - check-out the Ailerons 💪🏻 Oh yeh…the Captain of this Jet follows us 💪🏻 And finally, thanks to everyone for getting us to No1 on Flightradar24 for the LHR Departure 🤔 See you in Sydney 🇦🇺

A statement by the Director of Public Relations and Information Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame indicates that the successful operation, conducted on Saturday, 8 August 2026, followed credible intelligence on the activities and movement of suspected terrorists within the Sambisa Forest area. Acting on the intelligence, the NAF deployed a Remotely Piloted Aircraft to conduct persistent Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance enabling the identification and tracking of a group of terrorists as they moved towards a suspected hideout. Following positive identification and confirmation of the target, the NAF aircraft conducted a precision engagement on the location. Subsequent battle damage assessment indicated significant effects on the targeted compound, with several terrorists eliminated. Further intelligence received after the strike confirmed that nine ISWAP fighters were killed, while several others were wounded among those reportedly eliminated was Abu Khalid Al Muhajir, described as a prominent ISWAP commander responsible for providing special security escorts for the movement of senior members of the terrorist group.
