New York spends the most on education in the U.S., a staggering $36,293 per pupil in 2023-24—91% above the national average of $15,633—yet ranks poorly in outcomes. On the 2022 NAEP, NY’s 4th graders ranked 32nd in reading and 46th in math, while 8th graders ranked 9th and 22nd, respectively—middling at best despite the cash. Cost of living soared under your watch, and his COVID response was a nightmare: nursing home deaths spiked due to your reckless policy forcing infected patients back into care facilities. Lockdowns crushed personal freedoms, shuttering schools and businesses while pushing vaccine mandates. A disaster all around.
