Thanks to Central Connecticut State University for posting this video. I also want to thank the university for allowing my family and I to be the Founding Donors and help create the John Lewis Institute for Social Justice several years ago. I'm genuinely grateful for the platform that Central...

The University as a Joke: My UNIABUJA UNIVERSITY OF ABUJA Experience When the Students’ Union Government of the University of Abuja, led by Comrade Yusuf Tobi Jamiu, invited me for an interactive session with students, I was skeptical. Given the recent decline in the courage and independence of students’ unions across Nigeria, I didn’t expect much. Still, I decided to give it a try. I came straight from Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport to the University. An advance team already on the ground hinted that something was off; they couldn’t locate the Students’ Union President on time, and the hall reserved for the event looked deserted. Soon after, one of them informed me that the university authorities had cancelled the program. Not long after, Comrade Jamiu himself reached out to say the event would still hold. So, I headed to the university gate. There, I was stopped by campus security, who bluntly told me the management had declared my visit “unacceptable.” They claimed the Students’ Union had no permission to host me on campus. I alighted from the vehicle and sat on a dilapidated chair by the gate, refusing to leave immediately a silent protest. As I sat there, I witnessed a scene that summed up the death of our university system, a female student was barred from entering the campus for “improper dressing.” When I asked if the university bought clothes for its students, the confused security men eventually allowed her in, perhaps to avoid a scene. Moments later, Comrade Jamiu arrived to apologise, visibly helpless. I couldn’t help but wonder whether he had been elected to lead or to kneel, to represent the students or to appease the school authorities. After a brief conversation, I left saddened but not surprised. What I saw at the University of Abuja was not an institution of learning, but a graveyard of courage and ideas. Our universities are dying — not for lack of resources, but for lack of integrity, independence, and freedom. Nigerian universities are dead. What remains is the struggle to resurrect them.

There are 362 NCAA Division I head men’s basketball coaching positions in the country. I don’t take for granted how fortunate I am to be offered the opportunity to lead one of these programs, specifically, Houston Christian University (HCU). First, I want to thank the Lord for this opportunity. I want to thank HCU President Dr. Sloan, Director of Athletics Steve Moniaci, Deputy Athletic Director Stan Williamson, and James and Ann Bryant. All five of you have played a vital role in allowing my family the opportunity to move to Houston to join your prestigious institution. Thanks for your belief in me and our vision to reimagine and reinvigorate the men’s basketball program. I would like to thank and honor Coach Ron Cottrell and his coaching staffs who spent the last 33 years leading the HCU basketball program. This includes long-time assistants Steven Key and Jud Kinne as well as many other assistants. Ron and his staff dominated the NAIA and Red River Conference days of the 90’s and early 2000’s. They fearlessly led the program back to the NCAA Division I level, through the probationary period, to the Great West Conference, and to the Southland Conference. It is a privilege to follow Coach Cottrell and build on his body of work. I am grateful for the previous colleges and universities who afforded me the opportunity to lead their programs. Rock Valley College, Graceland University, and most recently and for the last six years, Emporia State University. I will be posting an in-depth message thanking some specific people who changed my life from Emporia State in the coming days. In the meantime, I want to express my gratitude for your support and love during our ESU tenure. The Emporia community is incredible. Alexys and I not only raised our four children in the community but we also watched your children grow, too. It was a special time in our family’s life. Thanks to my wife and children, my parents, my assistants, and our former student-athletes. College athletics is all about people and creating value for each other. Thanks for partnering with me each day as we pressed forward to make degree progress, impact our community, and win games and championships. The work continues with great excitement for the future at Houston Christian University. As George Strait famously sings, “Take me to Texas.” Proverbs 19:21

Students of the University of Lagos who were on campus between 1993 and 1994 can bear witness to this. One of the earliest lessons I learned in life is that the struggle for justice and the defense of the oppressed are often thankless. That is the burden of leadership. In 1993, when cult violence had placed the University of Lagos under siege, cult groups had effectively taken over the campus. The university authorities were complicit, and many of the attacks were coordinated with the active involvement of the university administration and the then Commissioner of Police, James Danbaba. A few student leaders and I made a decision that we would confront cultism head-on, regardless of the personal cost. For that decision, I was brutally beaten, injected with unknown substances, humiliated, and left at the brink of death. But the deepest wound was never the physical abuse. It was the ingratitude and disappointment from the very students whose lives we were risking everything to protect. At one point, I wrestled a live grenade from a student who intended to detonate it on campus. While many stood frozen in fear, I was prepared to lose my own life if that was what it took to save thousands of other students. I do not recount these experiences to seek sympathy or applause. I say them because they define what leadership truly means. Leadership is sacrifice. Leadership is standing for what is right when it is dangerous, unpopular, or unappreciated. Leadership is remaining committed to justice even when those you fight for do not understand the price you are paying. My fight to liberate Nigeria did not begin today. It is a commitment I made decades ago, and one I have never and will never abandoned! #RevolutionNow #Sowore2027 #SoworeForPresident

To my family, my friends & fellow 🇳🇱 citizens The Netherlands Institute for Human Rights ruled that the Dutch Immigration and Naturalisation Service (IND) discriminated against me because of my political beliefs. I respect the decision. Almost two years later, I am still excluded. My situation has not been fixed. That is very hard for me to understand. I never wanted to share this story. I speak four languages, I have a master’s degree in International Relations and Security, and I simply wanted to participate in the Dutch society & use my knowledge and life experience to help a better & safer Netherlands. Finding out that I was judged not by my skills, but by who I am, hurt me deeply. At the same time, it gave me a fire inside that will never go out. I belong to the Kurdish-Yezidi community, one of the most persecuted ethnic and religious minorities in the world. I never expected this to happen to me in the Netherlands, especially by the government itself. While many people my age are building their future, I have spent almost two years fighting the third largest ministry in the Netherlands: the Ministry of Justice and Security. I did not choose this. But the Netherlands is a democratic country governed by the rule of law. That is why I am taking the Dutch State to court in The Hague. Not only for myself, but for everyone who wants to be judged by their qualities, not by their political identity. Thank you.

Yesterday, I spent an uplifting morning at Aburi Girls’ Senior High School, where I was the guest of honour for the commissioning of their newly renovated dining hall and kitchen. This initiative was sponsored by the AOGA 1999 year group. In her welcome address, the headmistress, Mrs. Wilhelmina Obuobisa- Atakora, thanked me for my presence. I assured her that the honour was mutual, because Aburi Girls was my first school visit as Vice President. Also, Aburi was once home for me: I was in Aburi Presbyterian Demonstration Girls’ Boarding School before going to secondary school. I commended the old girls for their contributions to the school and encouraged the young girls to dream big, work hard, and look to God. Rev. E.A Asiedu, the Presbytery Chairperson, highlighted our government’s longstanding commitment to quality education by recalling the provision of a science laboratory, a school bus, and other projects when I was the Minister for Education. The President of the 1999 AOGA year group, Mrs. Emelia Sackey, explained to the students that the renovated building is a testament to what women can achieve together. Also at the ceremony were the AOGA Global President, Prof. Koryoe Anim- Bright, the MP for Akuapem South, Hon. Lawrencia Dziwornu, and constituency executives. After we cut the tape and inspected the renovated buildings, I made a contribution towards the legacy project. Thank you to the administration and staff, the students, and my fellow teachers for the invitation.

Summary 2025 🎨 This year has definitely been the most incredible, prolific in my artistic career! Won two official Art contest organized by PlayStation, had my art exhibited at the Fluctuart Galerie in Paris, I also had the honor and opportunity to be officially commissioned by some extremely talented people and studios that I admire, to create official illustrations for Control by Remedy Entertainment, Blades of Fire by 505 Games and MercurySteam, as well as by indie studios that I love with all my heart too, such as Digixart and Lowbirth Games to create special, festive goodies for their teams🖤many thanks to Juha, Antonela, Raphaelle and Chloe, Aicha, I appreciate you all a lot and I am so grateful for the trust. ✨️ The highlight for me was without a doubt being commissioned by the family of Guillaume Broche, creative director of the GOTY Clair Obscur Expedition 33, to create an unique piece for his birthday, a large 1-meter panoramic artwork 🖤 (A big thank you to his brother, Adrien, for his trust.) Then I had the opportunity to collaborate with all the voice actors of Expedition 33 and their agency. Even though the year started off in the best possible way with my work, I had a very difficult and painful year physically, with my health. I don't talk about it often, I'm not really recovered, and the daily pain is sometimes really, really hard to bear. To everyone, I hope you enjoyed this year of non-stop drawings, time lapses, paintings, cosplays, goodies, and I hope you'll still be here with me next year, because I have so many cool things planned for you all!🥰 Thank you for all the love, constant support, the kindness and all the encouragement I received every single day here and on every social media. You made my 2025 an amazing year and I will never forget it. Thank you to all the beautiful people who commissioned me and trusted me enough to let me draw your pets, your kids, your families. This means the world to me. Thank you for all the person who helped me every time my art was stoten, I am so, so grateful. For everything. 🙏🏻🖤

On February 18, 2024, I shared a message regarding the need for accountability, transparency, and true repentance from leaders, especially in the Church. The intention of my message was to share the critical need and call for greater levels of health, purity, and accountability for leaders. However, I realize now that I did not express compassion for, or address the need for the protection of all victims of abuse and sexual misconduct that I see in and out of the Church. This is and has always been my priority in these situations. My omission has hurt many in the Body who are processing hurt concerning the heartbreaking situations unfolding at IHOPKC and elsewhere. This is my mistake and I am deeply sorry. I ask for forgiveness for the people whom I have hurt with this omission. I would like to share my heart on this issue, which I failed to fully articulate in my message. I am deeply concerned and grieved by the situations unfolding amongst Christian leaders. I have advocated for morality and a high standard of integrity both before the Body of Christ and the Lord. In my attempt to clarify a need for spaces where leaders can bring their sin struggles before a community that will help them to get free, I overlooked the importance of communicating my heart for the victims. Let me be clear: it is never okay for leaders to groom or manipulate people. Clergy sexual misconduct must be brought into the light and dealt with appropriately. This is so that perpetrators can be held accountable and have the opportunity to genuinely repent and find healing for their sins and brokenness. Victims receiving healing and wholeness should be our priority. Thank you for your consideration, and again, please forgive me.
