Well the shutdown is so that Jim Beam can expand and modernize that distillery. Also the oversupply issue could have cost 10s of millions in taxes. The reason the rest of the news "won't show you" is because this poster is almost always full of crap.

Jim Beam is not closed; they are shutting down one of their distilleries to make enhancements while they sit on an overproduction surplus due to lower demands since the pandemic. Go to many restaurants today, and you will find their bar areas at less than capacity, even on weekends.

Jimmy's statement is not that they're shutting down, because of foreign demands being less.They're shutting down for upgrading the facility and their inventory.Their other production plants will stay at full tilt

I see he didn't mention the aging barrel issue. In Kentucky, distillers pay taxes on aging barrels. Kentucky spirits distillers paid $75M this year in taxes. That is 27% more than they paid in 2024.
