I always check the ORVMs to look for idiots waiting for merging . Never have me them any space to even think about it. But if someone squeezes into a gap, I let him merge. It's always better to have such idiots in front of your car not behind.

Common problem I see with cabbies through the Bangalore Mangalore highway. And the idiots don't have their FastTag setup so they end up holding the line. Often have had the thought to step down and take the moron to task...but then again, pick a fight with a pig...

Always focus on your car and your safety! No point trying to prove a point or teaching a lesson to brain dead idiots.. lot of people are frustrated, overreacting and engaging in road rage for silly reasons! Not worth your time and peace of mind!

This is pre fastag days, during December rush at tollbooth another luxury car, squeezes in the gap between 2 lanes and overtakes 20-30 cars and comes right at the toll gate..no one even bothered honking at him...Ideally 10 guys should have come out and ripped off his tyres.

I would let the Thar merge, different theories - it's difficult to find a gap and squeeze in (will realise only if oneself is in the place of Thar), as Thar is a big vehicle, he may not bother about a dent but his vehicle will hardly be damaged.

If someone rushing, reduce the gap between your vehicle n the vehicle in front of you. I don't allow someone to cut the line.
