That's a terrific clip with some teaching potential about vortices and contrails. The tip vortices are reducing air pressure inside the swirl - which runs low (top) to high (bottom) of the wing. The reducing pressure condenses out atmospheric water as the local temperature drops. As the aircraft rolls (to port) the right wing is now producing more lift = bigger tip vortices = stronger contrail. The left wing vv. The engine exhaust contrail, faint as it cruises along behind at reduced power = low fuel burn = low water production, becomes denser as it powers up to pull away. There is also a short burst of aerodynamic contrail as it pulls G = more lift = lower pressure on top of the wing, to dive away.

I watched one do that from the jump seat in a Buff. Felt like a cuck in the corner chair.

Every time I see the B-1B I think of my uncle Norm. He was an electrical engineer at Rockwell international and worked on the B-1 project during the 1970’s and 80’s. For me a part of him lives on with the BONE.
