My first thought was this changes his whole life, then I saw your comment. There's always tears involved when people see colors for the first time. We take our senses so for granted. Synesthetes can see the colors of sound and can also taste them.

I think these should be covered by insurance. They cover hearing aids. Why not this. Color is important. And if they need to be prescription they should be covered too.
