That feeling when you prompt a mobile app into existence🤯

Officially the first time I have hand-modeled btw

first two weeks of a language learning app and first month of a christian app one of them already hit #57 on App Store this is what happens when you deliver consistent, high-quality work I love this game 🤷♂️

Could existing apps or websites be transformed into App Store applications?@sulco

oooh, great question! I haven't played with such a use case, but I'd say it's tricky—but not impossible. I'd still make a fresh project though: you can try asking Bolt to create a documentation (PRD) for the project you already have, then use that as the basis for the Expo one

Amazing work!! Love - I’ve already built @RoomMining @FlowStake @computer_builds @DevStudioPro and more! Exponentially better, faster development

Android apps?

Supported! 🟢

is this going to be readily available? seems like the last release ws 3 weeks ago :(

It should be possible, yes—but I'm not sure about the roadmap on .diy tbh

can it also make bolt?

wait... 👀

only iOS support?

Nope, Android is supported as well!

I’m building a mobile app rn, will post updates once it’s up! Then tutorials, I’ve learned so much it’s wild

Looking forward to it! 👀

Nice work!

Excellent! Earlier Bolt was supporting only NativeScript. Was waiting for Expo support.

Wow! (good job on the dark mode, btw)

Bolt is super crazy!!

On the simplest prompts

crazy

That would be pretty cool if it can work with Auth, Storage and backend.

I haven't tested that personally yet tbh, but since Expo does support things like that, it should be doable.

You had me at “prompt a mobile app into existence” 🙋♂️

I kept getting terminal errors yesterday which wasted a ton of my credits

Shit! Now this is cool Can I add login, paywall and an openai key to process some prompts in the app???

No way the design looks already that cool in a single shot.

I cheated only by placing the "b" for the bolt icon; all the rest was a single prompt. Not only the design, but the pages I'm showing were there, too.

Reproducing a super known UIs might look crazy, but it's quite feasible ( It's the unique apps that are more challanging—but it's still usually down to using well established patterns, so Bolt deals with that really well.

just hope it writes itself too.

I dont like how deceptive this video is. Not cool guys.

Endless terminal erros

That feeling when you realize this is just a part of a dataset zipped into a text calculator stochastic parrot:)

does Bolt allows to create react native, flutter, swift (ios) android sdk apps?

react native: yes flutter, swift: no

How does it handle bespoke or custom designs?

Is this just a PWA or can it be packaged to be uploaded directly to the iOS and google app stores? Any success getting through the submission process? I’m curious how this is going to work, especially with iOS rules

No, it's the real deal (nothing against PWAs though!) You can see the whole end to end process in this walkthrough:

Any examples of apps that have been build using this on the App Store?

Bolt+Expo? Not yet; we're rolling it out today for everyone for the first time, and considering the App Store timelines, it'll probably take more than a day;) But if you're asking about the technology (i.e. Expo) itself, there's a ton:

This could be step one of the future

Needs api key storing similar to Replit, you tell it to make something that needs api key and it doesn’t ask for it and then when you provided it it doesn’t save it correct sometimes
