“That is a night that is etched on my memory and will be in my nightmares forever.” Dr Ravi Jayaram told me his suspicions about Letby were confirmed when he walked in on the nurse attending to a baby one evening. Here’s his account of what happened.

Baby K, as the baby was known in court, survived that night and the jury did not reach a verdict in relation to that particular count. But Dr Ravi and other consultants would have to wait over a year longer for the hospital to call in the police.

I have a problem with the news reports referring to the NHS having questions to answer. Please be specific, it’s the NHS non clinical managers who have most the answer. The NHS clinicians saw it and were, at best, ignored and treated badly. Clinicians should be running the NHS

This actually makes my blood run cold 😪 Poor babies and families 💔

The NHS needs to be restructured from the top down, all those people who are hanging onto overpaid jobs that don't understand the pressures clinicians face in their day to day jobs and are only interested in balancing books should not be anywhere near managerial positions.

Wow. That doctor seems so straightforward, compassionate and intelligent: how could the executive just dismiss his concerns in the way they did? The moral injury he has suffered is beyond comprehension.

Have those administrators apologized to Dr Ravi???

Who is the person responsible for not taking heed of Dr Jayaram? Why is whistle blowing ignored these days?

Just curious: why didn’t he call the police himself…? I most certainly would be done if I suspected babies were being murdered and I was being stonewalled by management….
