'That is an absolutely astonishing admission.' The DPP has admitted that Simon Levy's prosecutor 'simply didn't look' at his criminal history prior to the double murders. Fraser Knight brings @tomswarbrick1 this LBC exclusive.

The Simon Levy horrors are a failure of the entire Criminal Justice system. But the CPS are top of the pile. When they make serious mistakes, the police are obliged to make mandatory referrals to their (admittedly useless) watchdog, the IOPC. But there seems to be no such mechanism for the HM Crown Prosecution Service Inspectorate (HMCPSI). "Simply didn't look" is simply not acceptable. Lack of meaningful independent oversight is simply not acceptable.

@DefenceGeek @Fraser_Knight @TomSwarbrick1 Are people finally starting to realise what the police, prosecutors, prison officers and judges have been saying for 15 years? The criminal justice system is in slow motion collapse.

@Fraser_Knight @TomSwarbrick1 So the bottom line... the prosecutor didn't do his job correctly and women are dead. He needs removing from his job and imprisioning

@Fraser_Knight @TomSwarbrick1 The level of incompetence in our public organisations is SHAMEFUL.

@Fraser_Knight @TomSwarbrick1 The only reason someone goes to court on a Saturday is because the police of kept them in custody overnight because they don't think they should have bail.

@Fraser_Knight @TomSwarbrick1 That's not a little mistake with little consequence, that's a massive mistake and two women paid the consequences with their very lives. So is that it now, case closed, just move on ?

@Fraser_Knight @TomSwarbrick1 The Saturday court is a red herring. There have always been magistrates courts held on Saturday. They are remand courts. No one is bailed to appear on Saturday, they are for offenders who the Police denied bail. The Prosecutors only job is to apply for a remand in custody.

@Fraser_Knight @TomSwarbrick1 CPS has time and again not done their jobs this is the latest in a long line of fk ups, they stuffed up the Colocane prosecution too. Every Police Officer has a horror story about CPS aka the criminal protection service

Name the prosecutor, or at very least confirm they have been dismissed & banned from ever working in any Govt role or even being sub contracted ? The BONUS is clawing back of this individual's bonus for the last 5 years. @UKParliament update the law to make Civil Servants or Admin staff liable & prosecutable for gross negligence.

@Fraser_Knight @TomSwarbrick1 Make no mistake, the Criminal Justice System is as broken as it’s ever been. The Police will kop the most flack as always, but finally people are seeing that the 3 elements of the CJS are in need of huge investment, policy/law changes & the public need educating on the basics.

@ShelaghFogarty @Fraser_Knight @TomSwarbrick1 So fire him. Very simple.

@NatashaC @Fraser_Knight @TomSwarbrick1 Why isn’t this a sackable offence

@Fraser_Knight @TomSwarbrick1 This incompetent fking clown should be in jail

@grahamwettone @Fraser_Knight @TomSwarbrick1 This utter weak moron should resign immediately 😡😡😡

@rachelhorman @Fraser_Knight @TomSwarbrick1 He’s not referring to a Saturday court “to get through the backlog”. This is a Saturday remand court in the magistrates court, for those charged and kept in custody by the police. They are often very busy, as is typical for mags remand courts.

@Fraser_Knight @TomSwarbrick1 Parkinson and his team need removed .. filth ! as bad as Saunders and Starmer

@Fraser_Knight @TomSwarbrick1 Absolute nonsense. The criminal history would have been clearly documented by the Police and formed part of their reasoning for trying to oppose bail.

@Fraser_Knight @TomSwarbrick1 There is another issue here. Bail is ‘free’ whereas countries like the USA impose huge financial penalties for breaches. Most people subject to bail face little risk. They may get arrested for breach and then just get released again. Make them pay.

@Fraser_Knight @TomSwarbrick1 Court is busy all the time. Saturday courts are not new, have been around for years. CPS & the Courts won’t be held to account for this…..

@Fraser_Knight @TomSwarbrick1 It is routine practice for summary information that follows a defendant through the court process to be incomplete. This is not a one off, it's happening every day across thousands of bail and remand court hearings. Eventually the police get fed up & that impacts their behaviour

@Fraser_Knight @TomSwarbrick1 Their stupidity meant women died.

@Fraser_Knight @TomSwarbrick1 No accountability from anyone in the CPS or Judiciary. The Police are accountable and have a complaints system subject to public scrutiny. We put up with all of the virtue signalling rubbish about violence against women and girls from these people. Their actions betray them.

@Fraser_Knight @TomSwarbrick1 Your commentator is incorrect. Many people are kept in custody to go to court on Saturday and have always been. This is typical of a poor CPS and those running the system being more interested in getting the cases dealt with as quickly as possible.

@Fraser_Knight @TomSwarbrick1 Are they going to be fired?

@Fraser_Knight @TomSwarbrick1 Mmmm learnt from Starmers time as DPP blame the lowest level of prosecuting lawyer for CPS organisational failings. Its what passes for leadership these days!!

@Fraser_Knight @TomSwarbrick1 CPS all over, try and minimise their role in any cock-up. Saturday remand courts are always busy, they should provide enough properly briefed prosecutors to deal with them. If the information was there and the prosecutor didn’t read it properly, there is only one agency at fault.

@Fraser_Knight @TomSwarbrick1 So how can people get fair hearing s if pf cant be arsed press a button and get history this is has ended horrendous and head s shdve already rolled

@Fraser_Knight @TomSwarbrick1 So Mark Riwley is right then.

@Fraser_Knight @TomSwarbrick1 Who can collate evidence for misconduct in public office and what organisation would they take it to if it's those in the CPS whose negligence may have resulted in that crime?

@Fraser_Knight @TomSwarbrick1 @andyburnham @connor_naismith WE NEED ACCOUNTABILITY!!! & it is just NOT happening. Why not?

@Fraser_Knight @TomSwarbrick1 Whoever didn't has to be prosecuted for corporate manslaughter

@SueSuezep @Fraser_Knight @TomSwarbrick1 I find that hard to believe all prosecutors look at sheets before deciding on charges.

@Fraser_Knight @TomSwarbrick1 He needs to lose his bar licence

@Fraser_Knight @TomSwarbrick1 Tip of the iceberg

@Fraser_Knight @TomSwarbrick1 CPS failure?
