We have a 5 month old kitten that got attacked by a coyote Xmas eve morning. Her sibling didn’t make it and she has a badly broken arm. Front right. Vet said it’s starting to heal & got some meds to help. Been sleeping on the couch since then to monitor her.

Here is my entry for spy cat of the year. Who knows how long she hid there before her sister shook the tree and made her wobble enough that I suddenly saw her face looking at me lol. Her name is Prini and I love every hair on her.

Cats can be incredible actors. I had one knock a lamp over in another room. When I got up to investigate, I passed the cat, dead asleep, in the hallway. I was completely baffled. All the windows were closed, no other pets or kids in the house. She would have gotten away with it, too, if I hadn’t turned around just in time to see her get up from her ‘nap’, slink on her belly about two feet, then fall over and ‘fall asleep’ again. 🤦🏻‍♀️😂. Now I have a rescued Cottontail rabbit that is also a superb actress. When she gets caught doing something she shouldn’t, she takes one of two stances: she suddenly adopts a dainty, prim stance and looks at me demurely (‘see how good I’m being?’) or she suddenly immerses herself in a vigorous bath (‘I was busy bathing; you didn’t see that.’) 😂

Gracias a dios the Solution to poor kitty paw pain was recognizable and correctable.

A Pigeon did the same to me recently. He saw me feeding another Pigeon with one Leg and the next day he appeared and hobbled up to me. Once he finished off all the Corn Niblets i'd given him he lowered the other Leg and flew off! Oscar Performance!

My Max kept sticking his head through a chain link fence lizard hunting, had a scratched cornea 3 separate times, and got conditioned to blink his eyes repeatedly and pitifully from the word “aww look at his eye” because of the gentle TLC attention for drops and treats.

I accidentally left my cat at a rest stop in Michigan, and she hitchhiked her way all the way back to Ohio.

If you reward any behavior a cat will do it again to get another reward, they ain't dumb. May not even be a deception if it hurt its paw one time, you treated it really nice for a while, and it remembers that great time and wants it back again. Even kids do this. Becomes neurosis

My family had a cat (who unfortunately passed away going on maybe 6 or 7 years now), and he would often "favor" a front paw and made people this it was hurt. But no, he was just a little weirdo who liked to sit up as a Tripod cat, rather than a typical 4-wheeler....
