Look at the debt explosion since then Coincidence???? I DON'T THINK SO

Before then women were not responsible for debt, their husbands were, and if not their husband their father.

She is absolutely correct

Almost sent this to my wife… close call

Feminists never tell you the second part of that... Women could still buy things on credit, and their husbands/fathers/brothers were legally and financially liable for paying the debt incurred, and those women had no legal or financial liability for that credit.

Barely anyone had credit cards, and now women put households in debt with their spending on them.

Repeal the 19th while we're at it

What she means is that women couldn't legally force their husbands into debt without the husband's permission. Now they can, making men legally into slaves.

Credit cards didn't exist back then

She's just spitting facts💯

😂🤣😂, I agree with Ozzy. That was a good law…

Let's just ignore the fact that most women didn't hold a job that would support a credit card. Not saying that the laws were fair and even, but there were also underlying facts at play as well.

He was so brilliant 😭

I'm going to miss Ozzy ... He was Awesome 🙏🙏🙏 Of course, we were always told he was the prince of darkness. So there is that 🤣🤣🤣 We need music in our schools. 👍👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

I don't think women should be allowed on social media. It makes them idolize the past, not live in the present and ultimately turns them into karens.

My favorite thing about the meme about women having credit cards is how no one had a credit card until the 90s. Until the 90s, the world ran on checks and debit cards. Men didn't have credit cards, and women didn't have credit cards. Who was shut out from credit cards in the 70s? Like 300 women?

Because they legally weren’t responsible for any marital debt. The retards leave that part out.

You were looked at as if you were a bum if you had a credit card in the 70’s or owed anyone money.

Did you know women werent allowed to have personal computers until 1975 either. Crazy right?

Women hold about 80% of consumer credit card debt and 63.6% of student loan debt, indicating a significant gender disparity in certain debt categories. This disparity is influenced by a combination of economic, social, and behavioral factors.

I know he had a lot of fans but I was not one of them. I just didn’t like the tunes, his voice, the way he treated his family…..none of it. I just wasn’t a fan. But I know he had a bunch. He led a long prosperous life. Hope his family heals.

But it’s not true. I had credit cards in 1973. These were store cards. What is true is that a married woman could not open a line of credit without her husband’s signature, since he would be held responsible in a divorce. Bank cards, Visa, MC, came later in that decade.

"Now let's see the graph showing how much family debt increased after the law was changed."

💯🤣

I really don’t know when women were able to use a credit card, but they didn’t really become popular until 1976. The first national bank plan was BankAmericard, which was started on a statewide basis in 1959 by the Bank of America in California. This system was licensed in other states starting in 1966, and was renamed Visa in 1976.

They forget that credit cards weren’t even a thing till like 1960, besides the Diners Card, which was in the 50’s. Men worked back then, so it would make sense the person making the $ have the credit cards, since they’re the ones who are making the $.

Absolute rubbish. My mother had a Neiman-Marcus card in the 1960s. (Not that my dad was happy about it, but what was he gonna do?)

This is an endless cycle: women smear bullshit on reality and men clean it up.

@alexstein99 This is a lie. They did not issue cc to women unless you had a job. Most women in the 70s didn’t work.

@grok with the rule of women not being allowed to have credit cards, when did the national average household credit card debt start becoming more than the average family could afford?

And there’s a reason. Almost every woman I know is settled with debt from purchases that they didn’t need to make.

Credit cards are a blight anyways, what happened to saving up for things needed, now a 70 quid pair of trainers can be paid in 4 installments at the till , living beyond our means, all leading to digital bank currency

The thing is women always had equal protection under the law, most don’t even understand what feminism did to this country! At one point in time, a man could provide for his family on one paycheck per household now the government collects taxes from two, doubling their profits!
