We stopped into a Waffle House driving back from Fort Worth to San Diego and when we walked through the door every waitress in place said "good morning" "C'mon in and sit where you'd like", even the cook stopped long enough to say "welcome in, I'm gonna fix you some good food"

What’s sad is that this was common as recently as the 90s almost anywhere in the U.S. …. Polite to the point you thought you were with friends, good quality, and clean…. And fair prices … it was everywhere.

When I was down south these were great to stop at. Would love to see them come up in the Northwest.

If you get down south or in the Midwestern areas give it a try. It's no Hilton or Outback but it's relaxing and sometimes enjoyable.

I was stuck in motel hell doing an Ok install south of Atlanta and in the morning going to a Waffle House was just magical. They spotted right off the bat I was a a stranger in a strange land and it was more food than I can eat for the price of local fast food. Everything custom

The Waffle House near me is the best! Took my Pup there the first thing after we got him and they all took their smoke break to play

American's. Is this place open all night 24/7 or is it like open just before workers like 3 am for ppl have work 4 to 6 am say and maybe closed some time during the day? Or 24/7 and 12 shifts likely?; Pretty cool, though idk how food would be depending on how many places there are of these and how long the workers have been there & appreciate working.

Funny. Our Waffle House is staffed by people on work release from the county jail. They look like they can't decide if they should make a run for it, or just rob all of the customers. Not very homey.
